Before I got my Viper, I had a Winchester 1000x (had to return, seemed to detonate with every shot). But I did have a few hunting sessions with it, but only one i took pics on. I don't have the time to post the story at the moment, might do it later, but here are the pics. And BTW, I had a bad sight in, so it went through left buttcheek and came out of left shoulder blade, breaking both limbs.

Yes, I know, a lot of pics, but better than no pics, right?

Nice lookin rabbit and great pics. I have 2 Winchester 1000's and while they are "crude" firing guns they are 2 of my most powerful .177 guns,,,, and extremely accurate. I don't shoot them all that much, but when I do they certainly get the job done.
Enjoyed you post and pics very much, looking forward to the next ones. :)

My Winchester 1000X (while i had it) was dieseling from the start, smoke came out of the barrel with all 750 shots that went through that thing. It was around the last 5 that it started detonating with every shot... Do any of your winchester 1000s do that?

Great shot and pic's, look's like a nice one for the oven too. Ed

Because it didn't seem to hit any vitals, it didn't die instantly. It suffered for about 2 minutes. I shot it then it jumped 3 feet in air, then somehow ran into woods as fast as it could, which is strange because i broke two legs... and anyway, it came out of woods, flipping around on its side (due to broken legs), until it "stopped". This is a prime example of overpenetration. But it seems somewhat impressive to me that it went through all the way lengthwise. BTW, I used Gamo magnum pellets. (probably not a good choice)

Hey Robert,
No, neither one of my Winchester 1000's have any problems with dieseling. I have one in the wood stock and one with the synthetic. Both of em are real powerhouses and are 2 of my most powerful .177's. I have the synthetic one set up with a laser/light combo for night hunting. Harsh firing guns but I do love em :)

When I first got mine, I couldn't even open the barrel because it seemed that the oil has formed a glue-like bond, until after using the floor, it finally opened. It had a LOT of oil in the breech, and theres no doubt that it got into the spring chamber. And BTW, I also saw smoke when I opened the barrel, from the breech. It had a heavy sharp smell, I dunno if thats oil or whatever. So I dunno why it had so much oil, but after detonating 5 times in a row... I said, that's it. I called Daisy, and they said that it's probably the oil but I should return it just to be safe. So I said, hold on a minute, don't i have a warranty here? she said yes, but we are in the process of relocating our business, so that it might get lost in all the rummaging, and I might never see it again. Some warranty. But then again, I ended up with my Viper, which hasn't ever had smoke come out of muzzle when fired

Heh, what ever happened to "Take pride its a daisy"?

ha ha, in the first and 4th pic it looks like he's saying "ouch".
