: Zen and the Art of Springer Shooting

Well, I read what Russell (onloooker) said about gripping the rifle, and went out back this morning with a target and a bunch of Crossman pointed pellets.
I am shooting from the top of my gas grill, from some bean bag rests.  Whenever I found myself holding the gun in a death grip, I relaxed and let the gun do the shooting(very Zen, huh?).
Results: No flyers; Groups that are respectable; a nice experience.
WOW! Who'da thunk it?
Thank you Russell, for bringing peace and joy to an old man.

Well I'm glad I could help.  Not that I can take all the credit.

There are several good articles in the Library under the Shooting Guide.  And of course you can find some more info all over the internet regarding shooting techniques.

I agree with John. I tried the same advice last night and bagged 3 nut munchers! That is the best shooting tip I have ever had. Thanks, Russell!

Just keep relaxing and keep your cool while shooting. i actually get some decent groups for about 20-30 shots till my arm gets tired.. then take a break and go inside.

When I hunt the airgun becomes a extension of myself and what I do wrong or right is magnified through it.  :) Ed
