: Weight of the Pellet, does it matter?
: p8ntballernwpa September 09, 2007, 08:47:34 AM

I know it matters with springers, but with the QBs that are powered by Co2 does it matter the weight of the pellet?

Thank you for any responses.

yep it matters with all air guns. Some thing applies to powder burners as well. Try shooting a JSB exact and then shoot a Kodiak you poi will be different. You will have to do some research to see which performs best.

.

Weight of the pellet determines how fast your pellet goes.

You like 850-950fps if you can get it, which you can with the right weight pellet.

AFAIK

Think you might be concerned with how some heavy weight pellets can damage some springers, leading to early spring breakage (which seems to be related to the spring's wire diameter more than anything else).
No spring...no worries...CO2 guns don't have pellet weight issues of that type.

Heavier weight pellets do shoot slower, sometimes drastically slower.  Has a lot to do with pellet fit; too tight and you lose speed from friction, too loose and they usually shoot poorly and can lose vel. from poor bore sealing. Given the same good fit, the heavier pellet will be slower.
