I took a breather today and headed further out to the next grove of tree's, I had been punishing them pretty hard in the first grove. My weapon of choice today, the Gene tuned 34 and she's a super sweetheart. I loaded her up with a Tomahawk and stashed the tin in my camo and out the door. After about a mile walk through the field's I entered the second grove and went into stealth mode as I made my way from cover to cover. Behold there's one now and it's gonna be a stretch for me and the open sight's, haven't mounted the scope yet hehe. There he sat at about 25yard's working on a wallnut, he hadn't noticed me and there was no way to move in closer, to much open ground. So I settled in behind a stump and relaxed for a spell, getting in my hunting Zen mode and watched him at lunch. Slowly I pulled the 34 up and layed her across my arm and leveled the sight's on the side of his head, safety off and squeeze. Nice impact sound and he fell from limb and with a few second's of quivering it was over. How quick did he expire, pic say's it all, the nut was still in the death grip of his jaw's and the shot was a hair below the ear. That's shuting em down hehe. Ed

Outstanding Ed.. Takin game with open sights always impresses me,, I wish I could shoot like that with open sights but my eyes just arent that good anymore,, I need the optics..

Good shooting. I am not surprised you have to walk farther to find some squirrels, lol.
-
Thank's guy's , yup gotta let them repopulate hehe. On my walk back I passed through the first grove and scared up three and heard several other's chattering further in the grove so some new guy's moved in. Ed

Thank's Bill, I thought for sure that he would have dropped the nut but when I got to him, clamped in he's jaw's. Even in the end he was taking the nut with him hehe. Ed

Using only open sights, you are a better shooter than I am. Priceless photo!
Kind of reminds me of the squirrel in the movie ICE AGE. He was not about to let go of his nut either.
