Is the nicer stock REALLY that much nicer? Umarex has a refurb '36 that they are willing to sell me for $159 - almost the price of a new '34 or Panther, and the action is the same.

I find it hard to believe that it's really worth it...

Buy it Vince. I had a 36, Gene has it now. The stock is much nicer, has a nice rubber white line butt pad, has an upgrade trigger guard and higher quality iron sights. the 36 was RWS flagship break barrel rifle prior to the intro of the 350.

Hey Vince,

You never see me answer a post that asks if I should buy a certain air rifle. Because it is entirely a decision that the potential owner must answer for them selves.

I know how hard it was for me to decide on the type of rifles that I wanted, and I am the only person alive that knows my wants, needs, and desires of the rifle that I am looking for ! I don't want someone to blame if I am unhappy. I just want to make the best choices with my money and time.

Now I know it must be much harder for you Vince, do to all the rifles that you have had, and all the rifles that have tempted you. Now I know from you reviews that you have a analytical mind, add up each point of your interests, on each rifle that you would like, and pick from the two rifles that have the highest score, or not.

I had to choose from the BSA Lightning, and the Goldfinger in .20 cal, I loved everything about the Lightning but the fact that it wasn't available in .20 cal.. And that was the my decision maker...

If it feels right Vince, and you really want it, go for it !!!

I kinda like .177 for cost and choice of pellets myself, but certainly do have some other calibers that most folks don't think of when 'bb gun' is mentioned.

Soda cans don't stand a chance at 80m with the scope setto 2x shooting cpl or Vogel match pellets. Both7.9 grain pellets shootnear 900f/s with cpl being 10~15f/s slower.

Basics shoot between 995~1010f/s, but don't retain velocity very well. The jsb exacts seem to shoot alot higher poi but mid 800's velocityand not so consistantwith groups thatare less than impressive.

Just ordered the CFX instead. Used the coupon code (thanks, PeakChick) and am having it shipped to a friend's house.

I using the trigger inserts that Rich in Mich makes. A little while ago I ordered 5 of 'em (he gave me a discount), and stuck one in my 440 and one in my .177 CFX.

They're harder to put in, but more economical.
