Now that it has been over 2 years since I started in this great hobby/sport, I have learned much. One of the things I have learned and it is one of the most intriguing aspects of all the fun is that it does not matter how much you pay for an air gun but the enjoyment you get from it..:) I love my Gamo's but also enjoy my other 14 models of air rifles and pistola's. I wanted to make a point of this because sometimes we can get caught up with just on particular model and look past the fact that all the air rifles and pistola's can bring happiness and enjoyment from shooting and hunting with them. I started out with Gamo's and enjoy the heck outa them but I also love my FX Cyclone PCP, RWS 34, 36 and the list grows. :) So remember that it is the love of the sport and not any particular model air rifle or gun. They all are fun and enjoyable..:)

I agree buddy I like to sample alittle of everything if I can. I started out with just my CUMMINS B3 many moon's ago hehe and I've tried to aquire gal's from different countries. :) Sometime's you have to bring out the quality in a airgun, mod, tune etc. to make it shine so to speak. Now as I look back I see that the thing that attracted me to Airgunning is still there and FUN!, Hunting with them. I'll tune em, I'll mod and camo em but in the end I'm just a Airgun hunter. :) GTA bring's out the best in Airgunning and Airgunner's and is a great inspiration to our member's and future one's. Ed

Gee, I don't know about all this. Personally, I just won't own a rifle unless it is a Weihrauch, or a RWS, or a BSA, or a Gamo, or a BAM, or a Crossman, or a Air Arms, or a ..........................

LOL Peak :D Ed

Ditto Stephanie , I want to try them all!! hehehe kirby

So very true!
I remember the funnest gun I ever had was a cheap Beeman smooth bore break barrel Pellet/BB Repeater (the BB repeat never worked right) similar to the Silver Bear... My dad paid all of 19 bucks for it new from the gun shop. The barrel would slide outta the shroud and it had so much twang you could play it in a honkey tonk band, but I loved it and could hit just about anything out to a thousand yards!!! :D
I've been chasin that feeling ever since. Nothin has come close so far. Well, the B3's have come kinda close, it just still isn't the same though. :0

You are so right Gene,
We seem to start off enjoying our airguns, but for some reason we start to look for perfection, whatever that is. And we loose focus on the fun and enjoyment of our sport, looking for something that may only be found in the eyes of God.
I enjoy shooting my B-3 more than shooting my Goldfinger, because I don't expect that much from it. And when I do well with the B-3, I find a different satisfaction, enjoyment of a cheep air rifle, doing well.
I can only equate airguns with dogs, if a dog loves you, and makes you happy, it doesn't matter if it has papers or is a National Champion. It provides you with far more than you can ever hope for, happiness !
I have found in the past, shooting target pistol, rifle, and trap, as soon as you start pushing for perfections, you no longer enjoy shooting. It becomes a job and not a sport.
But then again, that's just me. :-)

Gene,
You make a very good point. It is the sport that we all have grown to love and the rifle/pistol we choose to use is the one we feel most satisfied with to enjoy the sport. One thing I might add is the sense of camaraderie we experience, regardless of brand or style, as airgunners. The airgun enthusiasts I have dealt with all share a common bond through the sport and each individual has much to offer to make the community even better. I really enjoy this forum and have both learned and laughed as a result of joining it. You folks are a great bunch and I am proud to be part of it.

Amen Bill , you just have a way with words. I told Jon my field target shooting partner something similar to that just the other week. I told him that I could probably compete with some of the others if I equipped myself with like equipment , but I didn't want to loose the fun I'm having at the moment shooting with whatever I decide to take out that day. I know some of my guns don't have enough power to knock down some of the longer targets , but if I can hit them at 50+ yards I'm happy and to me that's all important . kirby There's only one place that I know of that seems to want to rain on some guys parade because he just bought a Gamo , a Crosman , or some other "cheaper" air gun and for the life of me I can't understand why.

Thanks for the reminder Gene.
I've been making myself physically sick for a couple weeks sorting out what my next AG will be. I think I'll get my junk gun and go shoot some dog turds right now.
Hey, you did mention having fun, right?
I wonder where the fresh ones are hiding.

Hey Steph,
I'm really starting to like you...a lot!
All my wife collects are shoes and purses to match!
Do you like to fish?
Just kidding,
Dookie

I wonder how they would react to having a GIRL in their club?

Dookie
You sure have a strange sense of humor. Sometimes I wonder where you come up with some of your posts.. lol
Gene

He's right though Gene... You shoot a fresh dog turd with a CPHP and the whole mass kinda swells and flips over. Very entertaining!
-
I have to confess that the idea of shooting dog turds never occurred to me.......and that I'm not all that sold on it now.....LOL
-
You know...whenever I shoot dog turds, they usually start smellin' like they are fresh hatched again. Not good.

Totally agree. I think the most fun I've ever had with any gun would be with a $40 Daisy 880 I had. Parents bought it for me at about 13, I shot that thing (literally) until the stock fell off! First night I had it,Ii musta put 500 bbs through it. Maybe I'll get close to you guy's assortment one day ;)

Dog Truds? Yikeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssss
Guess I do not get out much.. lol
Gene

I must confess. I have 2 tuned English springers and as of late they sit lonely in there cases while I'm out shooting my tuned QB78 in 22. The others shoot superbly I guess I just have a different taste right now.
-
Are you serious?
Man, I mean... ahem, Stephanie, Those things are better than paintballs. There like stinky exploding paintballs. Especially when they're fresh.
This one time, my dog wasn't quite finished...
I'm sorry, Steph, that's not fair of me. It just happens to be that toilet humor is my best friend. You've got kids right?
Dookie

I told ya, I'm Irish...somewhere... at least I think so.
Thanks Gene, wasn't sure how it would be recieved.

See Steph, Dale knows.
It's kinda like boiled okra, you don't know you're not gonna like it til you try it, then you know you're not gonna like it.
Thanks for having my back Dale,
Dookie

I used to have an English springer but we gave him away because he pooped all over the house.
Just kidding, he was an outside dog. But maybe we should've had him tuned.

Old school 880s with the metal pump arm rock!
What happened to them? Now all you can find are these weak-@$$ plastic ones.
Dookie
-
Ya' mean like the 30 year old 880 I have in the link below? 8)

LOL Your a rip Dookie. If you had him tuned it might have smoothed him out and he could have made it out side. :)

You hit the nail right on the head. "It doesn't matter what you pay for it...but that you have fun..." Too many times I've read on other forums and seen the "snobbery" about airguns. Often when someone posts about a lower cost gun (i.e Gamo, Chinese, etc) they get brow beat. "Buy a better gun, etc." And they (the airgun snobs)can't believe that a lower cost gun could be fun, much less accurate. Many equate accuracy and fun with price. Well, maybe that's all they can afford. Or maybe they could afford it, but just choose not to spend more money. Not everyone can justify spending $500+ for an airgun that doesn't come with any optics. Then there is the "tinker factor". If I'm going to take apart an airgun ( and potentially &%^$& it all up) I prefer that it be low cost. That's why I like this forum, no "snobbery", just guys and gals who enjoy the guns and the hobby.

Nathan

True, very true but I don't think Paul Watts, Bob or anybody else was advertizing tunes for my model at the time.
I'll tell you this; it sure wasn't going to be a home tune. You ever try getting the compression spring back in one of those after it's been apart. I'm pretty sure of another thing as well; that dog wasn't just going to stand there while I cross-hatched his cylinder either.
Thanks Jason,
Dookie

Yeah man, just like that one.
You know it's right, it doesn't even have the black over white diamond inlays on the forestock yet.
Are ya selling?
Dookie

I'm gonna keep it, and maybe hand-it-down to my grandson, when he's old enough to shoot!
The thing still shoots nicely!
