Hi Guys, have any of you guys ever put a damper around your spring, to stop the twang? Theres a Spanish guy who has done, and reckons it works well.

A BIG WELCOME to the G.T.A. FORUMS Jonboy,
We are always happy to have new members here, especially members from another country, as we are an International Forum. We look forward to your posts from Spain, keeping us informed on the news and developments in airgunning there !
As for your question, I havent heard of anyone putting a damper around there spring. I would think it would slow down the springs action causing a loss in velocity, and perhaps interfering with the spring over time ?
I'm sure that there are more informed members here that may have heard of this, or tried it. They will most likely add there knowledge as they come on line.
So post often, don't be a stranger here. We are all part of one big family here on the GTA, cause THIS IS JUST A GREAT PLACE TO BE !!!!

But I see no reason why it can't work well. I don't think it would have to rub too hard on the spring in order to dampen vibration.

The only problem I would see with that is eventually the coating would wear down, flake off or deteriorate, leaving a mess in the piston/cylinder and or action. Pieces could even work there way into the trigger assy. Just my opinion..:) Gene

Thanks for the reply guys :)
As for Hunting Jeff, not allowed in Spain!
The Law states you are not allowed to kill any living thing with an air rifle :emoticon:
Even though air rifles out here are 18ftlb! enough to stop an elephant, well almost :p
Whether the Spanish take any notice of this Law I'm not sure. I have only been living here for the past year, moving over from England.
I have only started shooting since I've been in Spain, but I am learning quick.
This is a friend of mine, website, where all our results are posted, we are paper punchers!

There is also a small forum on the site.
All the Best Jonboy :)
