Here's a pic of the pellets used here.  Worst pick; Gamo Raptor PBA, followed by Tomahawks (see-thru tin).

The others I like for different reasons, but the .177 Predators and .22 SuperDomes do it for me in both calibers.

Hey Charles, that could very well be a picture of some pellets in my arsonal..:) Superdomes are most favorable but some of these German Ladies are picky and will only eat JSB and Beeman FTS. I have had conciderable luck with Tomahawks in my Gamo air rifles. I have found that most of the time after I do a tune on one of my air rifles that it swithches pellets it likes..:) Not always but about half the time. And even as you season your barrels they will change tastes of pellets they like as well.. Gene

Gene, the Tomahawks were shaken, not stirred in shipping, so there are a lot of ruined pells in the tin.  I've had to pick the best of the lot out and go with them.  Maybe I just don't like the look of the tips, after the predators were used.  They don't shoot any better or worse than the preds either, at close range.

My top 3 favorites are the  superdomes, exacts, then hunters (long range pells).  The preds are wicked at close range (my favorite takedown pell), as are the crow magnums.

I like the skirt-in-a-skirt design of the .22 superdomes.  Almost like they wedged a .177 skirt into the .22 skirt for more weight.

I use more Crosman Premier HPs than anything else, because that darned CX4 just gulps a 500 ct. tin in no time...BUMMER!

Keep 4 30 round magazines loaded for it when plinking, and never have any less than 3 extra 88G bottles in the case at one time.

I've found-out one thing; it takes a lot of time to target/chrony multiple rifles and pistols, to see which shines the best in each gun.

I took note about the changes over time you mentioned.  Will be interesting to test again in about a year.
