Thanks for sharing Chris.. Looks like a nice deal to me.. :) Wish it was a .22 though........
Gene

That would be real nice. Are you looking for one Gene?
Chris

I already have three of them Chris..:)
Gene

Yeah, I know, but having 2 didn't stop you from buying the third one... ;)
BTW I think it's a crime Gamo doesn't sell Royals here.

I've got 3 Gamos. Price is right, but published fps numbers are a crock, like so many other manufacturers' numbers are. Price is good, fps numbers not so good. You get what you pay for, no? At least accuracy is exemplary for springers.

I originally bought the CFX .22 Royal from the UK. At that time Gamo did not sell .22 CFX's at all in the US. Loved the wood so much I bought a CFX .177 Royal here in the US. Then I wanted one I could plink with everyday without scratching the wood up so I got the CFX .177 synthetic. It is absolutely a fantastic shooter. Yes Gamo did over rate the FPS a bit on the CFX..:) but I still get in the low 800's with the .177's and low 700's with the .22 CFX.. All three have been turbo tuned by CDT and have the Golden GRT-III triggers in them. I am not really concerned about the FPS because they serve my purpose with shooting paper out to 40 yards. I do not use them for hunting but just paper. Actually I have about 13 Gamo's and all of them have been turbo tuned with the GRT-III triggers installed. If I want to hunt with power I can use my BSSS1K .22 or if I am having a good day and feel invincible I can bring out my big !250 .22 Royal..:) Most all my air rifles and hand guns serve a particular purpose. Like my S1K's. I have a .20 cal L/W and a .177 cal L/W choked barrels. The .20 L/W gives me mid 800's and is as accurate as my CFX is. the .177 is tuned to around 800 fps for paper. And I also have an original factory Black Shadow Supreme.22 that has been turbo tuned as well that hits hard and a good hunting air rifle as well. Now that is just a few of them..:) But like I said each one serves a particular function for me and none of them are lemons. I am a Gamo believer and always will be. Like CDT always says: They are diamonds in the rough..:) Just a wee bit of attention and you have yourself a fantastic shooter. Gene

Gene, what was your .22 CFX fps stock, after break-in? I just can't seem to break the 700 fps barrier with Gamo Hunters or JSB Predators. Close, but no cigar.

Charles, if my memory is correct it shoots in the in the low to mid 700's. I would have to break out the chrony to give you exact numbers but as I recall thats about where she sits. Of course I have had her turbo tuned by CDT with a maccary spring. Also a custom spring guide and apex seal. Along with deburring, honing etc.
All of them have had the same tune.

I will double that. Gamos are good out of the box, but they can really shine with a good tune.

My CFX.22 throw's em in the mid 700fp range. Ed
