I'm sure everyone has their own way of polishing trigger sears, but I thought I would share a very easy way to get excellent results, in less than 5min. A dremel tool,a 1/2"drum sander with a piece of 600gt paper attatched. Cut the paper so it will stick about 1/8" past the end of the drum it is glued to. It will polish a trigger very fast and it would be hard to mess up the angles, since it will not remove very much, just polish. I have done a few this way and the results are outstanding and the limited amount of time it takes, just makes it better. So if you have 1 that needs alittle work give this a try, I think you will be very pleased with the outcome.

I'm also lookin for a new spot for a workbench/ cabinet, and have drawn out a diagram of a pellet stop like yours. I will be adding some flashing on the top, and on the ground feet. As even good grade pressure treated wood, degrades here in NJ, I guess it would like to be somewhere else also !!!

Yes, that will work but you need to be very careful on some sears, especially on some of the Chinese guns as the metal is very soft and porous. In most cases you cannot get a good measurement because of the profile, and you have no way of actually knowing how much you are actually taking off. In some cases, even a couple of thousandths will make it unsafe. I do every single trigger by hand myself including one that I did on a quest 800 today.
After tuning it and installing a GRT in it, the first time I shot it, it surprised and scared me... and after the first shot, I cocked it and when I closed the breech, it went off all by itself. Then I went to the bathroom...lol... That happened three times and that is scary indeed. Then it wouldn't cock any more at all. Both the intermediate lever and sear were worn a little and even though I was very careful about how much I took off of the sear faces, it was too much. I wound up tearing the trigger apart and modifying both the sear lever as well as the intermediate lever then hardened them. It's not the first time that I have had that happen and it works fine now but things like that can sure make ya nervous.
Ok .... now I gotta go explain to Sherry the hole in the wall...lol...

Hey Bob, tell Sherry that Fritz was tired of watching and wanted to shoot some, just need to work on his aim,hehe. Yes you have to be very carefull when working on a trigger. I do not try to get all of the machining marks,or pits out, just polish the high spots. The marks that are left gives the moly a place to hold on to.
