You've got $1250.
Put together your favorite 3 gun (include scope) set.
Right now mine would be:
RWS 52 (.22) with a Leapers 3-12X44 30mm SWAT Mini Size A.O. Range Estimating Mil-Dot Scope (~$500) - larger critter take down power
Gamo CF-X .177 combo (comes with BSA 4x32 scope) (~$200) - general plinking, light game and pest control
Eun Jin Sumatra (PCP) in .20 cal. with a Bushnell 6-18x50 Banner Dusk & Dawn (~$550) - long range hunter with good take down power.
I suppose it's cheating a little because the PCP is sort of useless without the support materials, which can easily add up to more than the price of the gun.
I'm sure no one will agree with my selections, and that's fine.
I'm not after a "my choices are better than yours sort of a thing" but rather I like knowing what people pick and why -- helps me learn more about what I really want or need from a gun and scope.
Let's keep it civil (as always) and I hope to learn more about the options out there I might be ignoring.

Xisico XS-B3-1 0.177 ($56) with BSA 4x32 or BSA Red Dot ($29): General plinking
B4-2 0.22 ($29) with Leapers 4x32 Mini AO Mil Dot Red/Green Illuminated Bugbuster ($57): Enough take-down power for squirrels and birds at mid range
Slavia 631 0.177($99) for 10M target shooting with open sights because who can find anything that fits that stupid 14mm groove...?
The above choices preclude long-range large animal shooting, but you have $980 left over for beer...
-
bah, beer wasn't in the budget!
-
I will give you the CFX and the RWS 52 with scopes...:) But the Eun Jin Sumatra is $400.00 plus Scope amd Pump = $700.00 .....:) Unless you plan on filling it wiff your own lung power and useing the peep sight that comes with it .....:) :)
Good choice though and that would be a good all around setup for any event..

Total: <$850.00
I'll spend the rest of the money on my hunting license, pellets, and gasoline for the Jeep!
........or maybe a .20 Beeman P-1
Although I have a strong preference for .20 caliber, the flatter-shooting Shadow would likely be the rifle I'd carry when the distance is long. It shoots just as far as I ever need to shoot for the small game hunting that I do. No need for a PCP. If it came in .20, I don't think I'd need another air rifle.
Aside from the goofy safety, the.20 R-9 is pretty sweet. It shoots flat enough for the average conditions I face in the field, and has plenty of power when shooting FTS pellets to take all of the edible small game I can legally kill with an air rifle, as far away as I care to shoot it with one.
If I had a bigger budget, I'd opt to add a .20 R-1 for a little flatter trajectory in the turkey blind.
Since I don't in this scenario, I'll use the rest for gas in my Jeep and go huntin'

Since i plan to avoide scopes i'm cheating and adding an extra rifle
Beeman R1 used $300
CFX refurb $99.99
Beeman R7 crosman peep $300
Gamo shadow supreme combo $149 (toss the piece of junk scope for mwndoza peep and muzzlebrake $50
Lots of cash left over for a couple more mendoza or beeman aprture sights and pellets!

If I had to get rid of everything else...or start from scratch, I'd go with these. In fact, I've put everything else in the closet now except these three and a modified Crosman SSP)
I've priced them at what I paid, but you can shop around and get them for less.
Talon SS .22 + BSA 3-12x44 scope + Accushot mounts + hand pump = $650 (for the versatility of hunting high power 22+fpe, adjustable down to as low as 2fpe for basement paper punching with it's moderator quietness)
B19 .22 - tuned and modified + Bushnell 3-9x32 Sportview scope w/mounts = $200 (for medium power 17+fpe)
QB-88 .177 + Daisy 4x scope w/mounts = $90 (for 6fpe general use, plinking, close range starling whacking, etc)
By my calculations that leaves me around $210 for a few cases of Tecate beer, some ice, and gas for the Jeep!!!
And I'll still have $100 left over to take the wife out to dinner...because she is just so cool about me buying airguns.
