Did I mention I love those predators?(the pellets)notice the 30# female coyote about 10 yards outside my door.This QB PCP is a murderer!I luv it,Hopin wife agrees to a .25 for x-mas?

They move in pack's around here, just waiting to run into some on one of these night hunt's but thier pretty smooth and crafty. Ed

Interesting. Why do you suppose the coyote came so close to your house? Do you have rabbits or possoms on your property? or maybe they could be passing through.
What's the best way to attract a coyote at night? Put some meat out in the back yard (or a live chicken for bait, hehe)? I often see a pair of coyotes about 1/4-1/2mi. from my house crossing the road at the same spot at night. I got my hunting license and I 'm ready for them, if I can catch them snooping around on my property that is, but I was wondering if I can bait them and let them come to me without using any calls.

Try increasing the contrast & brightness on your monitor. You 'll be able to see the entire body or at least make out the siluette/shape of the animal, except the tail. It seems to be between its legs. Normal behavior when they are scared or in the presense of a larger predator (like man), or in submissive mode, much like a dog.

C`mon guys I was juggling a gun,spot light and a p&s dig. cam.And yeah I shot her between the eyes with my haley qb,her hides hangin in the shed!A nice golden rod color,I enhanced the pic alot to get it that good ,I`ve never seen one that close to the house/yard,I gotta 100# german shepard that usually keep`em at least out in the wood lots,that surround my house,nothing to eat outside that i know of,actually she laid there after I saw her the first time and was just standin gazin at the light,I went to reload(never shot a yote with this Haley gub yet)and relized i had grabbed 1 pellet!Luckilly it was a predator,she ran about 20-25 yards and fell over dead.

Ha! So my .25 cal 50 ft lb Haley QB would be able to kill coyotes at close range. Nice shooting, seeing how you had to juggle 3 things in your hands to make the shot.

Keith, I did have a couple things going 4 me,she was only about 20 yards max,put a .22 predator right at 900 (1500# fill)between the dots,she litterally did a back flip and was off....for about 20 yards then she then she turned and looked at me, and layed down and died,it was kinda surreal,kinda like she was conceding defeat,and I been doin this stuff for around 30 years now.HMMMMM-sentimental in my middle age??Don`t tell the wife,I`m still claimin insane as far as she`s concerned.

That's strange she didn't run away at first sight of you but instead she stood there looking at you at close proximity. They say coyotes that don't immediately distance themselves from man, are usually rabit. Sounds more like a young inexperienced hungry coyote in this case though.

I`m not sure when I went outside the first time she just laid still,I backed up slow and went and grabbed my gear and she stayed still till my camera flash went off then she stood still lookin at me,But her predatory days were numbered because I was lookin thru scope by then.
