: We had a fantastic evening

Many of you know that I am a believer in the Lord and I try to follow his word. For the last few weeks I have felt quite a bit of pressure mostly from being over worked in hand with the ageing process I think. With that in mind; I had a great experience tonight.

My favorite contemporary band/group singers (I guess you would call it contemporary) are “Jars of Clay” and “Third Day” with “Third Day” being my favorite.

Anyhow, Sherry and I go to Christian concerts quite often and they are on a tour called “The Christmas Offering” and were here in Greenville at the Bilo Center. We went to see them this evening and it was fantastic. On top of that, because of my wife’s position at Verizon Wireless, she has available to her the Verizon Wireless Executive Suite when we go to various events there. When we travel to concerts we don’t have that luxury and this time it couldn’t have been better. If you like Christian contemporary music and are not aware of either or both groups, you should hear them, especially Third Day. My favorite song by them is called “Saved”

The style of the music between the two groups is different but both are great. They did both a series of Christian as well as holiday songs. When it was over and we left, I had a lightened heart and felt that a lot of the pressure was gone just that quick. And it’s funny because Sherry and I go to bed quite often listening and falling to sleep to them. But tonight was different. Tonight I felt the real meaning of Christmas come into my heart for the first time this season. It’s something that seems have been lost for so many.

Merry Christmas to all of you from both Sherry and I and if you are a Christian or a believer, be sure to share your Christmas with Him.

Well Bob, I am glad to hear that the Christian music sooths your soul. I do not listen to contemporary but gospel. My favorite is "Michael Combs". I think I have mentioned him to you before..:) But he can really put me in motion with his music. His music is great to listen to all year round. Do not know how much longer he will be around because he has had a liver transplant. But I have almost all of his music and will always enjoy listening to it...:)

Yes you did. I do like old time gospel too but you just don't hear a lot of it any more although we do have some CD's with it and on her Ipod.  :)  As I think I told you, Sherry has over 2000 various christian songs on her Ipod. In fact, I just bought her a new Ipod just a week ago....bigger and better....so they say... :D

Yea, I'm OLD, but the best are the ones that can MOVE YOUR SOUL, bring tears of JOY to your eyes, and brighten your out look for your lives.

I also love the Country GREATS and their Gospel recordings !!!!!

I to am a beliver in the Lord Jesus Christ Bob. Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your post! May I wish you and Sherry a very happy Xmas and New Year. I love good gospel music. We used to have good singings at the concerts here in Knoxville but in recent years haven't had many. I was thinking in church this morning how much longer God is going to tolerate this nation going the way it has been moving in the last few years. Oh well, according to his blessed word, he'll put a stop to it one of these days! Heaven help those in that day that don't believe in him! Take care, Gordon Amburn
