: pump up pressure?
: jct842 June 16, 2006, 10:39:15 AM
has any one ever measured the pressure made with a pnumatic gun like a sheridan or even a crosman?

I have heard all kinds of estimations and rumors ranging from 5-600 to 2000 lbs per sq inch.

what I am getting at is some pcp guns are actualy using 1000 to 1500 psi and if this is what a pump up makes why not construct a electric pump to fill a tank with.   the USFT is using this sort of pressure (1500,  I think) with a large tube to hold the air.  I just bought a choked . 177 lothar 19" long and will be building a gun.  I have a cummins mini lathe and a micro mill so most all of the parts I will be able to make myself.   Thanks,    John

I put a gauge on an old benji. To get 12 ft/lbs you needed 900-1000 psi in the valve. Many pcp's fill to over 3000 psi,but thats to get a decent number of shots from a slim reservoir. Low pressure pcp's need to be very eficient to get a good number of shots.
