I was looking to machine some adapters for my 850 and was trying to ascertain the paintball adapters published dimensions. I found this site describing what standard they used.

I cant for the life of me find an off the shelf tap and die for this "standard" is everyone single pointing these threads?

Are you looking for an adapter from Co2 to HPA tank?

No I was actually just going to make a straight through adapter from AS (16mm x 1.5mm pitch) to PB tank. I want to keep the 850 stock - stock, so I think I need to make a longlish adapter to clear the plastic and allow access to the pin on/off side valve on the 3.5oz tanks I bought from Barry (tat2dman). It looks like the uncommon 13/16" x 14tpi size is it, so I found that MSC carries them and put the tap and die on order.

From what I read online the idea of using different threads/diameters on these gas valves is to prevent the wrong gas being hooked up. Something like hooking up a Co2 tank to an Oxy fitting in a hospital.

i believe thats an automotive sparkplug tap.:)

Hey Mark, it looks like I will be buying an 850 after the first of the year and would like to know how that all works out. I would like to keep mine stock but be able to swithc from CO2 to HPA tanks when weather changes. So keep us informed as well.. Also you may find that Roald aka Silo has a great information site on the 54 network.

LOL I wish, it looks like spark plugs are mainly metric in dia and pitch from what I read online. It sure would have been great though.

Will do, the darn thing is fun to shoot but getting the expense down in AS cartridges is a good idea. Unlike the 1077 its trigger is very good and its power is above a stock Qb78 out of the box. They really hit it out of the ballpark in the fun department with this one.

Worried what the next lot would cost with the $ / Euro ratio going bad...
