Hi everyone. new guy here.
First of all, I'll say I am so glad there are resources on the net like this for airgun info!
The question I have is...Has anybody had any experience with the Leapers "5th Gen" scopes? any reviews?
thanks!

Hey Dustin,
Welcome to the forum...... I have quite a few of them, varying models, and they've worked well for me. Others may have a different experience, but I've never had any problems personally.
Looking forward to your future posts,,, and if you hunt make sure to post the stories and pics in the "hunting gate".

Welcome to the GTA Dustin,
I have a 4 x 16 x 50, with illuminated reticle, red/green. Now it's only four months old, but it is doing very well. I have it on my Gamo 890, and she seems to love it !

Welcome to one of the top AG forums on the Planet!
There are great folks here with vast amounts of knowledge willing to share what they know.
Like stated above, varied experiences with the Leapers. I read about them for a year or so on various Forums before buying 2 earlier this year.
I have the 3-9x32A/O on a B26 .22 that is doing great and a 4x32A/O on my QB57 that bit the dust in September after 6 mo. of use. They seem to be fairly hit/miss and I haven't found the reasoning behind their "processing fee."
Several folks here have been happy with the Tasco 3-9x32A/O scope.
Read up and draw from others' and keep us posted.
I have a Leapers post below.

Hi Dustin. guess you have been welcomed...:) Ya I have one of those 5th generations Leapers Scopes. They are tough and hold up well. Just a bit on the heavy side though. Mine is a 3-12X40 AO Illuninated. Had it now for about two years and have had it on several different air rifles and no problems yet.
Good Luck

It's pretty new, about 1000 shots from a gamo s1k so far. Its been holding up well. It survived a trecherous ride down the hillside (with cosmetic blemishes of course) when my gun slipped off the table. It looks nice, and is perfect for my gun and I expect it to hold up for quite some time now. I'd buy another. Good luck and Welcome.

Yeah, I've got two Leapers 6-24x50 mildot illuminateds on my pair of Diana 350Ms. They have held up just fine. As someone has mentioned, there has been some folks that had some problems with theirs...but they sure are a great deal if you can get one that works for you. I only have one complaint, and that is the "zero resetting feature" is a pain in the arse. Ya gotta carry around an allen tool if you want to unlock the screws, which then allows you to adjust the knobs, and its just not as easy as that sounds.Thats why I usually count mildots to figure out POI because adjusting the knobs all the time is real frustrating. On the other hand, if you will be shooting at a fixed distance/target, then you can lock em up.
Optics are good and clear, but some folks say the Simmons airgun rated models are even clearer. I keep mine set on 18 power and things are real close and personal. At 75~100 yards I can easily find them dang squirrels.
Oh yeah....and welcome to the forum there buddy, its a great place to hang out. Keeps us off the streets ;-)

From what I`ve read you either get a really good scope for your money or ya get a pos and have to send it back,I have two of the mini 5th. gen. and have zero complaints about`em,but they`re also on 0 recoil QB`s,but for knockin around like i do it sure beats using one of my leopolds, should Murphy`s law strike,I tend to curse alot less when it`s $50-75 than $300-400.Just my thoughts... :emoticon:

I have 2 3-9x40. I'm looking at buying the same one Big Bill has. I got to look through one at the last gun show just didn"t have the money. Looked good. I have had good luck with the 3-9. Good luck in whatever you choose.
