Your link got messed up,, you included some non url text at the end after the .jpg
Here it is cleaned up: http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/7209/0001448jb4.jpg
But that looks like a great gun, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Rifle looks nice Yote, I'm happy for ya :D Enjoy it!!

...mounted wrong???
Sorry - couldn't resist!
Anywho - 2.5" groups at 15 yards... I'm sure that'll get better with practice on your part and as the rifle breaks in. What kinda pellets you using?
And for the scope mounts - where are you getting them? Scragglepoint.com has some EXCELLENT mounts for $7.00 - 2 piece, with 2 rail clamp and 4 scope clamp bolts per mount - a total of 4 bolts gripping the rail and 8 gripping the scope. Plus, they have VERY low shipping charges.

Vince, I don't see any pictures with that link. Can you just post them here?
Thanks

Seems to have worked! See what I mean about the scope mouning?
-
I have mine done the same way =D
-
THanks Vince
I could never use the two piece mounts on my Shadow. They would always move back. Even with the scope mount lock. I ended up drilling a shallow hole in the barrel between dove tail, and use a one piece mount with set screw...:) After I did that nothing moves anymore.. :)
You may have better luck with the two piece mounts. I love shooting it and it is very accurate.

...did ya try the ones I'm describing, with 2 rail clamp screws on each mount? They even seem to be holding up on my Powerline 1000, which has a much harsher firing cycle than the Shadow...
-
LOL Vince, I tried accushot one piece and a couple others, and the scope and mount kept kicking the scope stop off into my front shirt pocket..:)
Fixed it when I drilled a shalow hole in center of dove tail and used a mount with a set screw hole and then it held..:)
My Black Shadow .22 has a nice rail that sits on top of barrel like the CFX, with set screw holes in it..

I had the same problem with my S1k. In my case I used a BKL one piece mount (260) and that mount has held rock solid ever since. Little pricey for a mount, but definately worth the money.
-
I had not seen those BKL mounts until way after the problem. They are fantastic mounts. I have 4 of them now.. lol.. Whats nice is that you have to spread them out with the screws to even get them on, so it makes a tight fit even before you tighten them up..
I am in the process of changing all the springers over to them one by one... Will just depend on what size scope I use now...:)

I've used two-piece mounts on every spring-piston air rifle I've ever owned -specifically the Beeman / SportsMatch 5030M's.
They held up on my Shadow just fine, even during the rough rude break-in that mine went through. The first scope on the rifle got trashed from the harsh firing cycle but the mounts didn't budge.
I didn't do anything top secret in mounting. I degreased the compression tube dovetails. I degreased the feet of the mounts, and all of the cap screws on the mounts. I set the mounts on the rifle, torqued the daylights out of them, and lapped the rings with a 1" aluminum rod coated with a very mild abrasive compound before installing the scope. I also backed the mounts up with a Beeman Professional scope stop.
The two piece mounts have served me well since the 80's with no problems.

Gene, was just wondering,,, are you changing over from the accushot one piece mounts to the BKL mounts because you are experiencing a problem with the accushots? I have both mounts, and like both, but have been ordering the accushots lately due to the much lower price. Just wondering.
-
The Accushot mounts are the best solid mounts that I have found. Especially for the price as you mentioned.. I am changing over to the BKL mounts because of weight difference. The BKL 3" one piece mount is about 3 times lighter than the accushots single piece mounts. I really do not like using the two piece mounts on my springers, but that is my personal preference. Nothing wrong with two piece Accushot mounts. Just it makes it harder to load pellets in my QB's. With the BKL Cantalever scope there is no obsruction.
I am also downsizing my glass.. The 50 and 44 mil scopes I have bought are just to big for what I hunt...:) Thats what I get for thinking that I could see better with a big scope... lol I am gonna start selling the big glass scopes soon. Will stay with the 32 and 40 mil scopes from now on..:)

I'm on my second set of 2 piece mounts and my next set will be one piece. I have about 400 shots on my Shadow and I can't keep the scope still. Where do you guys get the BKL mounts and what model number(s)?
-
Straight Shooters carries the mounts in stock. You can by them from BKL direct and other places. They run from $32.00 to $40.00 depending on where you get them.
Straight Shooters shows the 4" BKL mount but when you call them ask for the 3" mount. They work great on the S1K.. You also may want to read J.B. Sheltons process of mounting scopes.. I had the same problem with my S1K and fixed it by drilling a shallow hole between dove tail and using set screw in one piece mount under ring to lock it on the barrel. With the BKL mounts you will not have to do anything but mount it.. The BKL mount will not slide on your dove tail untill you use the screws to spread the mount dove wider. They are great mounts. THEY WILL NOT MOVE...:) after you install them..
