Depressed about my no show on my baby from Mike yet I decided to go hunt some to find my Zen. Once again I grabbed the 220, seemed right after yesterday's successful hunt. Bundled and loaded up I headed for the grove, didn't make it but half way when this guy come's hopping at high speed across the field. I froze but he spotted me and did the same, ok standoff but I had the edge with the 220 which at that point was already sighting in on him. Crosshair's placed on the kill zone I watched his ear's twitch and knew he was getting ready to bolt so I sent the Predator away. He made one grand leap and fell to his side with a couple quiver's, he was finished!. 28 yrd's to him and upon reaching him I checked out the point of impact which hit him right behind the eye and then noticed something else. As I looked around I realized that I was standing in the middle of a frozen cattle watering lake, not really large but they are deep. I didn't hear that scary sound of cracking ice but the thought was bad enough so I grabbed my harvest and moved it out hehe. I got to the edge with a sigh of relief, shot a pic and headed home. Yup they wouldn't have found me till spring, still smilin though LOL. Ed

Man talk about pucker factor WOW. Nice shooting looks like you got some fresh sand up there can't see the ground in this pic ;-)

Hehe Jason it got my attention and I'm alway's on the ball about watching where I'm stepping out in these snow covered field's. What caught my eye was the transition from the uneven landscape to the smoothness of the watering hole, time to move it out carefully but quickly. We got another layer of snow lastnight which is fine with me, easy tracking.:) Ed
