I am looking for suggestions for a 4-16 scope that can withstand the recoil of a RWS-54. I am looking to spend no more than about $130 and the cheaper the better. I also prefer target knobs.
thanks

Look at your local Wal Mart for one of the Centerpoint 4-16 x 40 AO IR scopes, $69.95. It's a big, heavy scope, but springer rated and great features for the money.

For the money, I think I'd have to agree with Peak. I just bought one of these myself, and I'm pretty pleased with it so far. Optically, it compares favorably to my Simmons 44 Mag. We'll see about longevity. That said, I think you may be setting yourself up for scope failures. The 54 is a notorious scope killer, it may be recoilless for the shooter, but scopes seem to take a worse than usual pounding. I've seen reports of 54's killing even high end scopes. Do you really need a 4-16? You might be better off with a smaller, lighter scope, either the Leapers compact if you can get one with good optics, or even a fixed power. Bug Buster maybe, although the ones I've seen had even crappier optics than the compact. Anyway, good luck, and keep us posted. Later.

I`d have to agree with Peak,I`ve had 1 for almost a year now and swapped it between several guns and even loaned it out once, and it`s as new...just my .02

I'll have to second, third and fourth the Center Point. Haven't had mine long so I can't speak to the longevity thing, but it is satisfactory in every other way, especially the price. That being said, daved did give some good advice on scope choosing. I've found that for the type of shooting that I do, the 4-16x40 is probably more scope than I really need (I do like it though). When I scope my QB88 I'll probably go with a fixed 6x32. I don't usually shoot much past 25-30 yards.
