Finally got to take the B51 out for a squirrel hunt. The last several weeks here in southern Ind have been cold and windy, cold and rainy or cold, windy and rainy. Got to the woods about 8:30 am and saw two grays right away. I managed to get one but the other ran over a ridge and disappeared. I picked him up and slowly walked the logging road thru the woods. After a 100yrds or so I spotted another gray. As soon as I shot him squirrels started barking at me from all around so I just stood still and waited. It wasn't long before I spotted two more and shot them both. Then it got quiet. I hunted for another hour or so and saw one more but didn't get a shot. I really like this B51. Four squirrels with five shots (had to finish one off). All shots were taken offhand at 20 to 40 yrds as I was walking the logging road. The B51 .22 is shooting JSB's around 1000 fps and is sighted in at 35 yrds.

Good shootin Randy nice lookin B51. Glad she is shootin good for you. I've read mixed reviews on the B-50 & 51 but, looks like she cleaned house on that hunt.

Nice job Randy!
Which JSB? Exact Jumbo? I just got a couple of tins of the 15.8gr Exacts and they are super accurate, just as good as CP's, maybe better.
That's a nice 35FPE rifle you got there too.

These are the 15.8 gr. The gun is a little more accurate with Kodiaks but I like the killing power of the JSB's. They hit hard and don't pass thru like the Kodiaks do. I was going to use predators but I didn't have time to resight before I went hunting. Maybe next time out I'll try them as they group good enough to hunt with but to a different POI.

Yea Barry I worked this gun over in the last couple of weeks. I bought it used in stock form. The first thing I did was sand it down and spray it with bedliner, then I added the sling and trigger shoe. I disassembled it and cleaned it up good, fixed a leak on the fill port, polished the trigger surfaces and the crown. Then I did the mod to the striker screw (cut a slot in the back),and removed the safety so I can adjust the power with a homemade screwdriver. Everything is working great and the gun is very accurate. I really like it.

I`m real close to orderin....waitin on the 1st.

'Tis a sweet lookin' gun there, Randy! I'm a sucker for a thumbhole stock.

How far do you have that screw run in to get that kind of power? I want to do some of the same mods to my B50.
-
I cut the slot in the back of the striker screw and adjusted it back to almost flush with the hammer. I am only guesstimating right now but this weekend I will be chronying it to get a good setting. I will post her on Sunday with the results.
