LOOKING FOR A GOOD DIY TUNE KIT FOR DIANA M52 .22, WITH POWER AROUND THE 22 FT/LBS AREA, HAS ANYONE HAD ANY GOOD EXPERIENCES THEY MIGHT SHARE
KIT I TRIED A FEW DAYS AGO WOULD NOT ALLOW THE GUN TO COCK, SEEMED LIKE SPRING EXPANDED INSIDE THE PISTON AS IT STARTED TO COMPRESS AND WOULD NOT ALLOW THE FINAL 2" OF TRAVEL NEEDED TO COCK, SPRING WAS QUITE A CLOSE FIT FOR PISTON STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PACKET, SPRING ALTHOUGH VERY SHORT COMPARED TO STANDARD DIANA PART BUT EVEN AFTER REMOVING THE TOP HAT AND SPRING GUIDE AND REPLACING WITH STANDARD AND MUCH SHORTER DIANA SPRING GUIDE, IT WOULD STILL NOT COCK, HAD TO GIVE UP AND JUST FIT A STANDARD SPRING,WHICH WORKED FIRST TRY.
SPRING WAS A SQUARE SECTION TYPE I SUPPOSE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A CLUE THAT THE KIT WAS NOTHING SPECIAL
ANY AND ALL HELP APPRECIATED

Check out this link, Fin: http://www.airguns.citymax.com/catalog/item/251488/2514163.htm
Can't claim personal experience with this particular kit, but I've used Macarri's stuff before, he pretty much sets the standard. Good luck!

got some stuff from MACCARI the other day, posted 18/1/08 arrived 24/1/08, wasnt expecting it that soon, good stuff, gun feels more like a rifle than an air rifle, no torque, twang, very consistent and no puffs of smoke either. compared to a standard oem spring with a coat of a thin moly on most bits :emoticon:
AIR ARMS DIABOLO FIELD (5.52)15.96 grain AV 749 FPS +/- 8fps 10 shot string :emoticon:
transfer port bored out to 4.5mm years ago (the advise at the time) not sure what effect that is having
not tested for accuracy yet, weather rubbish, looks promising though
when i started with air guns all the lubes were light, like what you would use on fine equipment such as sewing machines, MACCARI'S gear is like what you would use under a turret on a battle ship, how times change.

AIR ARMS DIABOLO FIELD (5.52) 10metre prone over a neoprene bag filled with plastic chips (a plastic bag instead of a sand bag he he) and dioptre sights with standard m52 post, which appears about 2" wide at that distance, result, slightly widened 1 pellet hole group and 1 happy camper, ME.
thanks again for the advise

Sounds like you got what you were after, Fin, glad I could help a little. Did you just do the tune kit, or did you get a new piston seal as well? BTW, that 4.5 mm xfer port sounds kind of large to me, but I'm sure no expert. Considering the extreme spread, I'd say leave well enough alone. I'm still trying to get my PCP's to shoot that consistently :-)! Later.

i replaced the piston seal and breech seal just a few weeks ago while fitting another type of tune kit, seals had no work done so i left them alone, just the standard oem part, will keep maccari's seals for another day.

I'm glad you're happy with that McCari kit. I ordered one of those for my B30. I can't wait for it to come in. My B30 is brand new, maybe 20 shots through it. I'll put the stock pieces away for spares. Now I need to get swivels and a picatinny rail for it.

if it only worked half as well in your B30 you will still be very very happy, but you are probably in for an ear to ear grin
shoot the B30 more as it is, so you can really see the difference, my 52 wasnt exactly a dog or anything but the kit made a big improvement
enjoy
