Yes the 2nd amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms!!!  I was sooo happy to see that 97% of people agreed.  I was scared that it wouldn't be that high.  This past summer I attended the National Youth Leadership conference in D.C. and it was scary how many of the top rising academic scholars in our nation believed we shouldn't have the right to bear arms.  I found myself alone, literally, debating about 300 other teens at our model congress that just had it ingrained in their minds that guns are bad and we shouldn’t have them.

the difference between a free man and a slave has always and will always be the right to own "weapons".  please note this has at times included things like walking sticks, not joking
