Read this from PA blog,

Then this from Crosman,
http://www.crosman.com/site/catalog/crosman/rifle/pcp
I bought this,

And one of these,

BTW, I recently bought the Beretta PX4 Storm pistol. It is actually quite good. The thing is a blast and I’m getting over 500 fps with Crosman SEHP’s. It’s accurate within reason, the blowback is visceral but the shots per co2 is dismal. Maybe 40-48 shots.
OUT OF CONTROL !!!

I'm very impressed with Crossman developing and producing the new Discovery PCP rifle. I think they are selling it for a very good price point in today's market. I'm delighted to see an American company producing a PCP rifle and manfacturing it here. I think it will be just the thing to get a lot of people to try a PCP rifle. The trigger group is the biggest flaw in the mix, but there are cheap and easy fixes for that. I'm sure this is going to spark the aftermarket to produce a large range of custom items and tunes.

I have to agree with you whole heartedly Peak. Crosman is the leader in innovations and it looks like they have hit the nail on the head with there new Discovery Series air rifles. It is the perfect PCP or Co 2 for the one's who want to slide over into the Dark Side without a big chunk of change out of there pockets..:) The best thing is that it does not take more than 25 pumps to fill her up again after 35 shots. Now that is one of the best features of all. I am sure Crosman will make some of the other manufacturers dig into there own research and development box in order to compete. The other best thing that Crosman has done is make the Discovery in the USA, plus keeping the price down. And one more fantastic thing is that it looks like one will be able to buy parts from Crosman, just like all there other air guns. They do have a great reputation for service...:) I think this will bring many more new air gunners into our community that were sitting on the fence...:) Gene

Wow! I may just have to put my toe over the line and cross over to the dark side with this one!
After reviewing the pics of the rifle, I do not clearly see any provision for mounting a scope. Did anyone else see this or is it just my bad eyes?

I haven't seen one or shot one but the idea, at least, is brilliant.
They will sell a zillion of them, I'm sure.
-
... for $379, shipping in March.

It supposedly has a normal Crosman steel breech with 3/8th dovetails.

Man, they are gonna sell a buttload of those things....
I hear the dark side calling!
-
Yeah, I have never thought much about PCP but this is the closest I have gotten to even being interested. I won't be first... but I will watch and wait.
Since the B28 is not out in .22, that budget may end up going to Crosman after all.
What I like is high power .22 and lightweight in a recoilless package.
Downsides:
Noise. (Going to be an interesting aftermarket opportunity, there).
Pumping.
From what we are reading, the NASA bicycle pump might really be all you need for this. Any sport that involves scuba gear better result in lobster.

I pre-ordered @ $399 less 5% ($19.95) internet order discount & $11 shipping totaling $390 from Crosman because they claim mid February shipping.
Pyramyd says mid March?? I wonder who is going to ship first.
If it doesn't show up till March from Crosman I'll be *_*_*_*_ed because Pyramyd's $379 - 10% + free shipping (aprox $341) is a great deal.
So I'm paying $50 to be the first on my block to own one....
-
Not both.
if I'm not mistaken ...

I think light weight is important. Makes a difference when you're out
in the field. Sure beats carrying a 10 pound springer in my book.

I want it.
But I want to wait and see if a Multi-shot version comes along.
-
Ron,
This gun has a Crosman steel breech installed and it does allow for mounting a scope; standard 11mm or 3/8". HTH.

Joe,
There is an aftermarket product available today that provides this. Check out this site - http://www.bryanandac.com/2240_variations.htm (http://www.bryanandac.com/2240_variations.htm)and scroll down to the Boss Repeater Breech. This will bolt onto the Discovery as it shares a lot with the 22xx platform, made it easier and quicker to bring to market basing it on this platform. I would not bet the farm that Crosman will add this capability to the gun anytime soon.

There are some mods that can be made, but for some reason, no one has brought out a replacement trigger blade for the 2260 trigger. You can do some polishing, change to a lighter spring and add a trigger stop - but it's still the plastic trigger in there. Here's a link to one mod on the 2260 trigger - http://www.spiralsol.com/airgunmod/1005.pdf (http://www.spiralsol.com/airgunmod/1005.pdf) Ignore the 2206 thing. it's a typo and he never changed it.

I want to see if Crosman can come up with something more aesthetically pleasing than that hideous looking thing, no offense to B&A LOL
If they can do it.
I can see the sales of 850 Magnums and the Dominator whatever you call it being almost non-existent.
Thats a joke, I'm sure the 850 is great for what it is (I know the accuracy is there) just not the velocity, I just don't like that plastic stock, and that Walther creation with the $500 air tube, what we're they thinking?
where are you gonna get 4350psi. fills? and how many fill are you going to get from a 4500psi tank? not too many I think.
Rant and rave done for now.
