I just felt the need to post a quick thank you to everyone on this forum. Over the years I have belonged to many different forums. I have noticed that the majority tend to be very click-ish or just don't want to associate with newbies. Example... There is one that I have been on off and on for 5 years. I don't post a lot because when I do the posts are either ignored entirely or the responses I get are not appropriate. I've even been flamed for asking a question that I was on topic and was basically a newbie type. It gets very discouraging. Another issue has been that the experts tend to think they are too good to share or spread the knowledge so tend to be contemptuous toward new members. I join forums for education, to share my knowledge and to talk with like minded folks.

I've only been a member here for a couple of weeks but GTA has already provide the most friendly, open and honest experience I have had with any of them that I have ever participated in.

Thank you Gene and Bob for creating this place.

You said it Chris. This place is the best. I too have checked out other forums but never joined because of some of the reasons you mentioned. Everyone here is happy to help and share. That's what a forum should be all about. Not about ego's.

I too, would like to thank everyone for their willingness and ability to help.  Ever since I joined I was a asker, not an answerer and I will still be that way for a long time but fortunately the good people here are keen on helping people like me.  Never have I been ignored or turned down here.  Really all you 'elders' of the forum, keep up the good work and thank you everyone for being so nice :D

That's what make's GTA " one of a kind" because it's more then just another Airgun forum, it's a family who's goal is share the excitment and knowledge of airgun's with all. Reading a post of a new airgunner who just got thier first baby and is out popping target's or taking their first harvest with her bring's a smile to my face because I can read the excitment in their post. You see I felt the same way with my first shooter, wasn't much just a $20 B3 but to me it was a brand new experence and that made it priceless. I still got my first baby, the B3 but she's better and a fine shooter and you know I still get the same feeling when I shoot one of my girl's and thank's to GTA this sport and this forum have become a important part of my life and I've learned so much from my GREAT! fellow member's here. I'm proud to be part of the GTA family. :) Ed

Over the past several years I also joined about a half dozen forums but I must admit that I found a real home in GTA.  It is without question one of the most friendly and helpful groups I have experienced so far.  I only hope that as the family continues to grow that it never looses what has made this forum a success thus far. I also thank Gene, Bob and all the moderators that work so hard keeping GTA the winner that it is. :)

I must say that this is the only Airgun Forum I have ever joined ( and probably will ever join). All of the other forums I referred to in my post were for interests outside of airguns, some of which I do for a living and am an expert in.

Hey All,

The GTA Forums IS the GREATEST AIRGUN FORUM TO BEON !

Gene and Bob have worked very hard to keep this the friendly place that it is. :)

Bob has educated us all with his knowledge and wisdom, and watches out for our safety the best he can over the Internet.

Gene is one of the best men I have ever known, he works very hard to keep airgun information available to each and everyone of us. He even checks out the vendors in the MALL, so that those establishments posted there, are safe good places to deal with.

I know every member of the GTA Family owes a BIG THANKS TO Bob and Gene for all the care and effort they have given, to make the GTA Forums what they are today, and always will be !

THANKS BOB AND GENE !

For doing such a fine job making the GTA Forums A Great Place to BE !!!!!!

Bill

I look forward to reading posts from the good, down to earth folks on this forum. GTA seems to be more for the average every day airgun enthusiasts that just want to share experiences and offer "realistic" advice. The YP's seem to be more about the "X's and O's" and splitting hairs about stuff that, at the end of the day, doesn't really matter.

Thanks Bob and Gene....  I'm glad I found this place...
