Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice on a good sent of scales mechanical or digital to use for weighing out some of my pellets.  Less than $50 would be nice but I do want something thats quality and if that can't be had for under this price range I will just have to save more.

IMO, I'd go with the digital one.  I think it would be easier to read, and although the other scale says it is very reliable, I would feel safer with a digital one.  But, if you don't mind manually reading the weight the other one is a few dollars cheaper and is listed as to the nearest 1/20th.  I've never delt with either scales but both look like they would do the job.

Not sure if a scale with 1/10 gr accuracy will do what you want. That means a 14.3 gr pellet could weigh 14.2 to 14.4 on that scale, and you'd never know the exact weight. I think most quality pellets would fall into that range(or the equivalent for .177s). If you feel that you REALLY need to weigh pellets, I'd save some bucks and buy a better scale. 1/10 gr is usually fine for handloading powderburners, but......... as far as pellets go, I just shoot 'em. Especially the higher quality pellets.

I have a Jennings JS-50x Scale, purchased from http://www.lotioncrafter.com.. price 41.95 including shipping. Very satisfied with it... comes with the calibration weight but never needed it...   FN

yOU MIGHT CHECK YOUR PAWN SHOPS A LOT OF THE SHOPS HAVE SCALES FOR DRUGGIES MAYBE THEY WOULD WORK FOR YOUR NEEDS AND THEY MIGHT BE CHEEP

As far as I know, you have to get into the gemological scales to get better than .1 grain resolution.

Here's one that goes down to .02 grain rezolution....and it wont break the bank. That site is reputable, I have bought a few things from there, and there is also an EBAY store from Old Will Knott where sometimes the scales are even cheaper.
