: like to defend the top 4 Air gun online stores
: Dave CAG February 21, 2008, 12:03:41 AM

I would like to defend the top 4 Air gun online stores andmost know who they are.
We are stuck with the rise of gas prices UPS and FED-EX determines the price of shipping.
Some of the online stores gives you free shipping for the high end Airguns some lower their price of
the product to compensate. I say the 4 top stores because they try to be as fair as they can I know the
companies and their owners. EBay dealers and others may run scams I do not know "not to say they do
I am saying I do not know."

At Cobra Air Guns the price of shipping is decided by UPS we have an account number and use world ship a
UPS program when you choose your shipping the weight the size and distance is sent to UPS "they" come back with the
price all through the internet in a blink of an eye. We pack your products in a box weigh it then input all the information
into world ship the price comes back and the label is printed.

Cobra monitors the cost on our behalf and the customer for each shipment, if the cost is in your favor we will take the hit
and adjust the weight so it comes out to be even for the next order we do not try to make money on shipping. Some times
the customer lives in a remote location (according to ups) we have taken hits up to $25.00 unless we go into the negatives
then we call and work something out where the customer is happy and we at least break even because we can not adjust
for these. Cobra Air Guns could Pass it on to the customer but we do not. It is the price of doing business you could say.

When it comes to pellets if you buy one can shipping is set to start at 1 lbs. the cost starts there, even if the box is empty
UPS has to take that 1 .lbs in that big brown truck to a depot into a 18 wheeler to a depot then back onto the brown truck
and then out to your house don't get me wrong their prices could be a litter lower. The only way to save money is to buy more
then one until shipping is worth it. It all comes down to the price of gas. Think about itBurger King will cost you $5.00For a meal
UPS is delivering from one state to another and to your door.

Cobra could send the pellets by regular mail USPSbut the problem there isUSPS do not guaranty delivery and the loss of products
is very high and is not worth the risk of our customers not getting their products. We will send 1 can out 2 day mail because they
guaranty 2 day "but it can not be more then a pound." more then 1 can must go out UPS.

When it comes to selling pellets there is very little mark up and not a lot of money to be made that is why Wal-Mart only carries
a small selection So it is not about money for the online dealer. We sell them because you need them to shoot air guns we try to
give customers the best deal we can but when some one buys one can there is not much we can do. So the customer should buy
more then one can not so the online store makes more money but so you can save money.

I hope this sheds a little light on the subject

Hello Fellow Members,

I can't speak for the online stores, but I know they face the same problems that the little guy on Ebay have.

Everyone wants the best price, and even lower shipping ! When I sold on Ebay, I had to purchase boxes, packing foam peanuts, tape, and labels. Then I had to drive to the Post Office, and everyone wants their items shipped the day before the auction has ended !

Claimed lost items, (not received)became a problem, as there is no way to prove that they were delivered without a Tracking number. Buyers Remorse and items being changed and returned for items that the buyer had thatwere broken became a problem. Their are more unscrupulous buyers than sellers out there.

What I am saying is, that the costs incurred by sellers, both Ebay and Internet dealers is high, and no one wants to pay, but they are still there. You can pay fair shipping charges or higher prices for your items, not both .

Just my opinion, or nickle !

Bill

I say try to take advantage of PA's of buy 3 get one free it off sets the shipping a little. When ever I go to Orlando 6-7 times a year I pick up a couple tins wether I need them or not. They are a dollar more than PA and I don't pay shipping. I'm not saying don't buy online because I still do. Everyone suffers on shipping so try buying in larger quantity.

Hey Dave,

How about USPS FLAT RATE  packages, i think they are 8.50 or so and the boxes are free from the post office. Those would work for anything that fits in them and several boxes or tins of pellets would for sure!
Shipping does make one feel like they paid too much.
