Purchased a B26-2 from MM and wanted to put a scope on it.. Purchased a one piece high mount and it is not high enough.. Short of trimming the comb what is being done to get the scope high enough?? Without costing a bundle I might add.... FN
-
On one of my B26-2's I bought a raised scope rail from the GAMO website,,, costs something like 14 bucks w/free shipping,,, and mounted it on the rifle receiver. Then I mounted my Accushot one piece high mount on top of that,,,,, worked like charm !!! Gave me all the height I needed.
The scope rail mounted very easily, and very securely onto the B26-2 grooved receiver and I haven't had one bit of problem with creep or anything else.
A couple other guys here did the same thing and according to their posts it worked very well for them also......

Yup what Jeff said.:) Ed

Gee thanks... who would have thought of the Gamo site.... FN

Frank, you could always have your eye relocated like I did...:)

Ooooo! I'll bet that hurt, Gene! Hopefully it's still 20-20.

I do have a crossed eye maybe that is my problem. Is this the part I need:

Frank, what scope are you putting on it?
I did the same thing as Jeff and Ed, except I just removed the rail from my Gamo CFX and put it on the 26-2, killing two birds with one stone and making both more comfortable for me to sight through. But even without the rail, the high Leapers one-piece mount was tall enough to mount the Leapers 4-24X50 with a little clearance to spare (if you don't count the scope covers).

I bleeve that's the one.

That's the rail Frank ..
Worked like a charm on my rifle......

I have several scopes on hand that I can use. Thinking of using a 4X32 AO right now. I also have a 30mm red dot I can use. I too have the Accushot High Profile one piece mount.. FN

Well then I will order one tonight. I have been shooting the B26-2 by sighting down the barrel, just to get a feel of it. Even at that I can tell it is pretty darn accurate... FN

I posted some pics of my 26-2 awhile back with the GAMO rail set up,,,,, if you do a search perhaps you can find them. It will instantly show you what the setup looks like....
Actually,,,, here ya go.... take a look at these.....

Looks nice, did you do anything to the stock?? Or maybe just shows up polished in the pictures.. That rail sure does it.. and it is quite long... Does it have a stop pin ?? I have it on order, so maybe in a week or so I will be in business... I also notice that Gamo has a two piece extra high rings.. but don't know if that in itself would lift it enough... Thank you guys for all this information.... FN
Looked closer at the pictures and I do see a stop pin screw.......
-
Hey Frank,,,,,
Didn't do anything to the stock except just a little tender loving care :)
As for the GAMO rings,,,,,, I think I'd stick with the Accushot high mount 1 piece, I've tried some GAMO rings in the past and wasn't particularly impressed with them....
Let us know how the rig works out for ya,,,, I think you're gonna be pleased :)

Well it looks nice... I wipe mine down every time I use them. Sometime with silicone and other times with Rem Oil. Does keep them looking good.. but that photo sure did it justice. Yes I will let you know how the scope setup works soon as I get it. Should be within a week or so.... FN

Ya Frank, after seeing your excitement about your new B-26-2 I broke out my pics of my B-26-2 with the sporter stock..:) Me head was just to big for the thumbhole stock..:) Besides I am jealouse of Jeff's purdy girl.. hehe
Gene

That is nice... boy, that scope sure lays down there don't it..... FN
-
Yep it does..:) Just fits. You can not see the small gap from the angle.

That rail is just what I've been looking for. Wondered if I would ever find one. Thank You!
-
Nice scope and mount set-up! Also, that is one beautiful rife! Did you strip and refinish it?
-
I received the Gamo Rail and high rise scope mount and mounted the scope on the B26-2.. I don't know if everyone has praise for this rifle but I sure do. In a nut shell all air guns should behave the way this one does. How would one classify an air gun... very smooth and easy cocking, not pellet fussy, and one hole accurate, and no harsh recoil... Did I just get a good one? Or are all comments about this gun like this?? I can't say enough,,, and I have some darn expensive air rifles but this one is the top enjoyment, truly..... I think I have found THE one!! Just hope it continues to be great... Thanks,,, Frank....
-
Both of my B26-2's are just as you described... They are really fine shooting rifles right out of the box.... Glad to hear how happy you are with it... enjoy.. :)

I thought maybe I was being to strong in my description of how it handles.. it is a great rifle.... FN
