I've been sitting here listening to the local PBS station, have a great Rock and Roll program on Sat. nights, anybody else like this stuff from the 50's and 60's?

The local PBS TV station is having another pledge drive so I get to listen to an hour & a half of Stevie Ray Vaughn. I think it's followed by Springsteen. :emoticon:

Hey Mike, I like the 60's , don't remember the 50's stuff much . Then got into the rock n' roll in the late 60's ; from there it was Zeppelin , Todd Rundren , and (Bowie) Ziggy Stardust in the 70's . Still enjoy all of it and country too. We had a long time country local radio station turn oldies two weeks ago. So' I been listening to that since. Motown , rock n'roll , and early British invasion. kirby

I remember women, but what the are they for.........t, Had a chuckle about the Viagra thing, hell I had one one from age 15 until 23.......whats the deal with 4 hours, get the woman you love and listen to some of this,.....chances are you will get shot down ,,,,,,,,,,what the Hell give it a try............

I saw that Stevie Ray Vaughn special on PBS the other night. They compiled it of concert footage from as far back as 1982. I know I have no room to talk as I am one homely individual, but what Stevie Ray lacked in appearance, he MORE than made up for in ability. I believe his rendition of Voodoo Chile is actually better than Jimi Hendrix.
One of my favorite PBS brodcasts was Stevie's final appearance on Austin City Limits. His brother, Jimmy, joined him and the two of them just tore up the blues.
My all-time favorite PBS concert was Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival. Man, they had the greatest guitar players (still living) of all time on that show. Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Jimmy Vaughn and Eric Clapton were all on stage at the same time! Also featured were John Mayer, Carlos Santana (accompanied by Eric Clapton), Robert Randolf and the Family Band, Robert Cray, Joe Walsh (accompanied by Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn!) and J.J. Cale. My ex-roommate was a roadie at that concert and he said it was literally a "who's who" of guitarists. I wish I could have been in San Antonio for that event.
PBS does a great job providing these broadcasts and I always try to flip them a few dollars for support.
