Well guys, I got my first REAL air Rifle today. It's a Gamo Shadow 1000. It came with a Simmons 3-9x40 8 Point scope, GRT III trigger and has been tuned by CharlieDa Tuna. I'm stoked...it's sweeeeeet.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to post pics in a thread. I downloaded them to the Album on this forum but not sure how to get them to show up so you can look at them there or click on the linky's above.

After you write your post make sure to check "attach a file after posting" It is the bottom box just above the submit button. Check that square and then hit the submit button. Then It will ask you to search for the file you would like to attach. Just make sure your photos aren't any larger than 150 KB.
Good luck

Nice rifle, good luck, I was wondering why your scopestop was in the front, on my Whisper even the hole was in the back(?)

That's where it was when I got the rifle...I think if it was at the rear the eye relief wouldn't be right.

BINGO.... You did it. Now your skilled at posting pics here. Next we want to see some holes in paper, preferably less than 1/2" groups shot from 20-30 yrds.

Good job on the pics. Did that muzzle brake come on the gun or is it an aftermarket item?

Thanks...you're a great instructor crazy4salmon...LOL The muzzle brake doesn't appear to do anything but look tacticool and aid in cocking the rifle. It was on when I got it. I think it was from the factory as I've seen some on different pic's of the Shadow while surfing the Internet. The guy I got it from didn't mention it as being after market. He bought the gun new in 2007 and had cdt do the work on it in March of 2007. I'm guessing right after he got the Shadow. I'll be putting some holes in paper in the morning and post some more pics. I can only get about 20 yd's in my back yard without having to knock down my neighbors fence, so that will have to do for now.

Nice rifle, David, I've run a lot of pellets through a Shadow 1K over the last couple of years. Yours is a later model than what I've shot, but I don't think that muzzle brake is stock Gamo, looks too big. It also looks like metal, is it? All the Gamo brakes are plastic. If it's anything like the Shadow I shot, you'd do well to stock up on RWS Superdomes and JSB Exacts. Some do very well with CHL's also. 20 yards is a good range to start with, get comfortable there then stretch it out. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Man you've got a good eye :emoticon: The muzzel brake is metal. I'm glad it isn't plastic!
This is what I've ordered to feed her so I can figure out what she likes:
Gamo .177 Match, 7.71 gr
Crosman .177 Premier Hollow Point, 7.9 gr
RWS .177 Superdome, 8.3 gr
Beeman .177 Crow-Magnum, 8.80 gr
Untill the order comes in, I'll be using what came with the rifle:
Crossman .177 Copperhead, 7.9
Daisy .177 Max Speed pointed field, 7.1 gr
Gamo .177 Hunter, 8.3 gr
