: Gamo 1250=Gamo hunter Extreme?
: pedroeguiguren April 07, 2008, 08:00:28 AM
hi someone told me that the gamo 1250 is the Hunter EXTREME? is this true?
Im looking for a new rifle, still thinking on this hard decition and according to some threads the 1250 is very accurate and powerfull in .22 cal.. I searched in pyramidair.com for the hunter extreme but only have the .177 cal and is supposed to go 1600 fps!
where can I find the .22 version. and is it a good rifle? accurate? I will use it for hunting.
or should I just go with a gamo whisper or the CFX. THey also told me to get the CFX in .22 cal but the 600fps dissapointed me because I need an accurate rifle and with a good range for hunting.
I what a break barrel or a side leveler spring piston rifle, under or around 400 bucks
though of the RWS 460 looks nice and the fix barrel gives it good accuracy but it is kind of expensive and no scope.
Any help or advices on what rifle to get is welcomed!

I dont think you can get it in .22 in the US anymore? You can find them from time to time in the classifieds. Jeff, aka longislandhunter has one and loves it. He might just chime in. Good luck.

The originals Gamo Hunter 1250's .22 were made in England. The quality was very good and power was outstanding. Later they were being made in Spain. The new versions only come in .177 and are not the same exact powerplant as the original 1250. Ed aka Shadow just bought an almost new 1250 made in England uses it strickly for hunting. He may chime in and tell you his observation of the 1250.

You will only find an original one as used. Price ranges from $250.00 up to $400.00 depending on quality. Remember none of the big Gamo 1250's or the Extreme's are servicable from Gamo. They do not sell the replacement parts and I do not think anyone does at this time.

Here I thought it was Jeff with your 1250 Gene. My bus, I got the two hunting nuts messed up. I whacked me another two starlings this afternoon with my Whisper from 25 and 30 yards. :p

Oh my big bad baby, powerful and a smooth shooter and she drop's varment's in a heartbeat. My sweetheart came from my good friend Gene who pampered her she's also from across the pond. The 1250 is a big shooter with a cocking stroke to match but the payoff comes when you drop game wth them. She's very accurate and mine is not too hold fussy when you find out how she want's to held. Load a Predator.22 and with a squeeze of the Golden trigger she put's em in the sweetspot everytime. Now remember she is big and if you plan on logging in long hunt walk's, she will test your iron hehehe. Ed

Pedro, I just bought a GAMO 1250 on Friday, thanks to the advice of Jeff & Ed.... of course it was used...I  paid $200 for it and after mounting  a LEAPERS TS 3-9X40 on her today I had the chance to really feel this gun out....from what I was told & my own experience with her I  scored big time with it.....I also have the HUNTER EXTREME, I don't think that it is the same gun....GAMO has made them in .22 but are not yet available......................I would buy the 350 MAG...w/LEAPERS 3-X40 COMBO...for under $400 ....believe me it is well worth it.......I'm sure others with the 350 can attest to what I am saying.....power/accuracy..everytime you shoot.......Trust me the more info you look for, the more confused you will get........

Pedro, I believe the internals of the 1250 and the Extreme are essentially the same but the big difference is cosmetics. However, my Extreme does produce higher velocity than my 1250 by about 30fps.Dunno why. Either one will serve you well but there is a little bigger learning curve with these models than the RWS 350 mag.If you've got your heart set on getting the more powerful Gamo Extreme or 1250 in .22 and if you are willing to wait indefinetly Gamo did announce that the Extreme would soon be available in .22.If you just want to hunt small game the .177 will get the job done with any of these mentioned rifles. If you want to consider another brand Straight Shooters has a sale going on Webley Patriot in .22 for $339.00.

Thanks for the advices!
I wrote Charlie yesterday because I think Im going for the Gamo whisper .177. The problem Is as I dont live In the states anymore Im buying it through internet in pyramidair.com and then sending it to my aunt in miami, Florida. then I dont know how or where should I ship the rifle so that charliedatuna can receive it an tune it up! Im still waiting for his response. then when he is done I want him to send it back to may aunt in miami. and she will take responsability from sending it to me here in Ecuador where Im living right now. Its a shame Im not in the States to see my gun first but I cant wait to have it here in Ecuador. You can only imagine the great places for hunting we have here! all different kinds of birds, animals... its beautifull. so anyway I waiting for charlie or somebody that knows how the process of sending the rifle to charlie to tell me about it. how long doues it takes?. my sister is going to miami in a few days so she will be bringing it back when its done.
