: S1K cocking problem
: April 09, 2008, 11:53:36 AM
After several normal shots this evening, my S1K will not cock.  The barrel stops just short of cocking, and the cocking mechanism feels as if it is hitting something solid.  I removed the stock but saw no obviously broken part.  Put the stock back on and had the same problem.  Any suggestions?

How old's the gun, and was it used much? I wonder if the spring might've broke and a piece of it got lodged somewhere.

Does the cocking stroke itself feel or sound any different?

The gun is about two years old.  Awhile back, I broke the original spring while shooting.  CDT fixed that and tuned the gun.  It has his trigger.  It is not shot a lot.   Less than 50 pellets per week, I guess.  The cocking stroke feels and sounds exactly the same up to the point where it meets the solid resistance.

Ashley, just ask CDT and he will gladly help you out. It is not ucommon for a spring to break but could be something else.

Good Luck

Thanks, Gene, Vince.  I wish CDT was my next-door neighbor.

Well Ashley, CDT does not bite and is really a softy when it comes to girls..:) A quick email will get him jumping.. hehe  I have never know him not to reply to an email.

If your Shadow has been working good and all of a sudden you cannot cock it, would sound like a broken spring or guide. Keep us posted on how you come out with it. And remember we like pictures..:) I mean pictures of air guns and hunting stuff...:) Silly..
