Today I was just casually looking out our backyard when I happen to see a grackle about 40 yards away on the ground.  I rush to my room and grab the condor, he is still there.  I carefully use a chair as my rest and put the crosshairs on him, but there is one problem: he is walking at a very fast pace, almost nervously.  He precedes to continue walking away from me when he stops and grabs a big juicy worm.  I put the crosshair on his noggin and squeeze the trigger, although I do not expect to hit him since he is now over 50 yards away, my gun is zeroed for 25 yards, and I am shooting a heavy 28gr. eun jin slug.  I do not hear the impact of the bullet, but I do see dirt kick up behind him so I figured I missed, but then the grackle falls over.  Upon inspection, it appears I hit him near or on the head.  Measured distance of 57 yards.  Here is a pic.

Great shot Larry and it sure look's like you nailed em in the fusebox.:) That's the way we like to see Grackles, taking a dirt nap. Again great shot and pic and thank's for sharing your hunt with us. Ed

57yds, wow!  Good shooting.  28gr pellet used on a Grackle or regular sized bird must be some kind of record!

Excellent shot! I wholeheartedly agree that the best photo of a grackle is of one lying dead in the dust. A 28 gr EuJin is a lot of lead poisoning for a grackle.

Thanks everyone.  I didn't think I would hit him at 50+ yards since the 28 gr. would likely drop a few inches at that distance and miss, but somehow I did.  I have noticed that with a 21gr. kodiak, my POI is almost the same at 75 yards as 25 in my gun.

Yep, the more dead grackles the better.  Got another one just the other day from 35 yards, body shot with 28 gr. Eun Jin.  Man do these pellets hit with authority.  Here he is.

Man, that's an awesome shot!!  I took one this morning with an RM377 + RedHead Red Dot, (Crosman Premier HP) but we are talking half that distance at best, and certainly not a bellringer shot.

Impressive, sir.

Good shooting.  I'm quite positively sure my next purchase will be a Condor.  There's something about slinging heavy lead at 1000+ fps that gets me all giddy like a school girl.  Mind you I've only been in the "air gun" scene for a little over 3 weeks.

Nailed another one from 49 yards today, but not pics since my dog got ahold of it.
