Anybody know what kind of lizard this is? It was 10 inches long and about 1.5 inches wide. I used my Daisy 880 to shoot this lizard.Normally I do not shoot lizards, but because he was coming in our garage and heading for our house, and I didn't want to worry about him having a family in our garage and/or house.

It's not a lizard its a skink. Those are good you might want to keep them around they all the little bugs like roaches and larvae.

Kidding aside , LOL . That looks like a broadhead skink .I don't have any like that around my house . We have tree lizards, What we call blue racers(actually five-lined skinks) , and chameleons (which are really green anoles). I try not to harm any around my house. They help eat the insects . kirby Wow , you guys were fast , I went to do a little research and boom , I'm third in line. LOL

Like leftcoast said, those are nic to keep around. They're good for pest control i.e bugs, spiders, etc. Any lizard will eat bugs for you though.

Good shot,,,, they're also very tasty when skewered on a small stick and quicky roasted over some hot coals :)
Seriously though,,,, great pic and that's a good shot on such a tiny target.....

IMO. We have some I've seen in south Ga. that grow to over a foot long . kirby

Ok, thanks for the info. Next time I see one I won't shoot it. It was just so big for this area that it had me worried that there might be larger ones like this around. We also have a green anoles/carolina anoles around here, and I frequently see them gobbling spiders, ants, etc.

I wouldn't mind going down to Miami , Florida and doing a little AG Iguana hunting ; I've read they're over run with them and they damage property . And I hear they taste like chicken . LOL. kirby

I have an aunt near Miami....
A huntin' I will go, A huntin' I will go!

You are right kirby the iggy is popular down there not sure if they have got the population under control. I've never tried them but I've heard they are good to eat.

Nice shootin on the ol lizard but if he keep's the bug's down spare one or two to keep em at bay. I had to drop this snake last year when I lived over in South Dakota. He had slipped into my open window, wifed screamed so out came the tuned QB78 took him out. I leave em alone other then that, they keep the mice and bug's at bay. Ed

You're not telling the rest of the story about shooting that snake Ed................... :)

Got me Peak hehehe ok I Also shot one of my boot's after the pellet passed through the snake but I didn't have to dig it out of the wall I think lol. That's my story and I'm stickin to it lol and the wife wouldn't come back into the laundry room until I removed him oh and the boot didn't cook up that good.:) Ed
