I had stolen the hammer spring out of my 1750 to go into my Discovery , so today I decided to do a little work on the 1750 and get it back into working condition. In my parts box I found what I think is a trigger spring I had bought from a guy named Ernie over off the crosman forum last year . It was a little short but a lighter spring about the right diameter . I went to the garage to find a suitable spacer/spring guide . After about 15 minutes of looking and after cutting off a nail to fit , that I really didn't want to use I found a short nylon screw, like would be used to attach an auto tag. I thought with a little work this will be perfect. It had a rounded head so, I chucked the threaded in into a hand drill and turned it down with a file until it would fit inside the rear end plug of the 1750. Then I turned it around and took the threads off the screw part , so the spring wouldn't hag up. The total length is about 1/2" . Once installed , I inserted a co2 cart , and cocked and pulled the trigger a couple of times to make sure the cart got punctured good with the reduced spring . Perfect and fairly quiet , thanks in part to the 16" barrel on the pistol . Then it was outside to test with the chrony ; I was hoping for a least 500fps and a bunch of shots. I chose to use some JSB express 7.9g pellets for my chrony testing . Speeds ranged from 549fps to one going through at 570fps but most were in the mid 550's and pretty consistent . What really pleased me was the shot count ; 60+ shots from a single cart and this was at around 60-65 degrees this morning . I can see the speeds going up a little to around 560-570fps average with more shots when it's later in the day and if I take my time between shots and let the gun's temp stabilize after each shot. I'm pleased with the results. A nice little backyard plinker that gets plenty of shot per cart. What more could you ask for. BTW it was grouping pretty good at 18 yards too. kirby

Thanks Bill, I just get in the mood sometimes to tinker and see if I can make something work. Sometimes it does , sometime it don't .LOL .kirby

Those guns are a bunch of fun to take apart and tweak, which reminds me, I have one in pieces in a box in my garage.....been that way for almost 2 years:) The Crosmans are pretty cheap entertainment around the backyard, sounds like you've made a pretty decent improvement in yours.
