It occurred to me that I have several old "bookshelf" style speakers with blown tweeters gathering dust in the room over the garage.  I think I will try to strip the speakers out of the box and preserve the grill covers, and build a pellet trap with a generous amount of duct seal putty behind the woofer port.  I need to mount some type of clips or maybe even just tape target of the correct size over the woofer port/pellet trap.  With the grill cover back in place, the speaker doesn't look out of place on the bookshelf.  Pull off the grill cover and I am ready to blaze away from my easy chair.  Most excellent!!!

Wrap in cellophane, tape on a targetand start shooting. When one side gets 'shredded', turn the box and wrap with cellophane again.

Put it on / ina 55gal trash bagto collectconfetti, and after shooting all six sides - pull the bag over it and it's ready to go out . . .

Polk Audio are nice speakers! I have 2 pair. I'd fix em and find something else to shoot at. : )  Seriously, that's not a bad idea as you already have the box made up. Something like that would work great for a indoor trap. Speakers could probably be found at yard sales and the ARC store real cheap.

Yes, but on the other hand, these speakers are shot and have been just sitting in storage for years.  I have other speakers -- in fact, my sound system is now my Mac computer with all my music now in MP3 format and the playback is through a Bose system via wireless Airport connected to my TV.  I bet it has been several years since I listened to my conventional stereo.  My wife won't be excited about any more conventional pellet trap on the bookcase, I assure you, but this looks like a nice speaker and covers up well after shooting.
