: B26 takes first blood
: Nexweb April 30, 2008, 06:50:58 AM
Hi, I've been lurking around here at GTA for a while now, but haven't ever posted anything. I gotta say its a really great place to be, and even though I only have one rifle for now (the B26), I still like reading about all the other guns. Here's some pics of me and my B26 on our first hunt. I got it last year but have only been shooting at targets. Since the weather was getting better I figured I should try her out!

Yeah, I like the open sights. I only reacently scoped it with a  centerpoint scope i won on the Crosman gate. Still figuring out what hold is best for me and working on my technique.

Good shootin' Webster. The B26 is a great all around rifle, I sure have liked mine. You know what they say 'beware the one gun shooter.'

Congrats on your scope Webster and welcome!
For the money you made an exellent purchase of the B-26.  Is yours .177 or .22?
Where did you order yours through?
I have the Standard also in .22 with the Leapers 3-9x32 A/O mounted in Leapers Medium rings.
Good job on the pics and keep 'em coming!

I got a .22 and it was ordered from best air gun. No complaints about their service the gun came in great condition.
: Webster, have you seen

the Library section yet?  Check it out and read some of the air rifle shooting info there.  I think you will see a description of the "artillery hold."
Remember to sight in the scope the same way you intend to shoot it and try to use the same hold as much as possible.
I have the same B-26 you do and mine doesn't seem to be too sensitive.  Good luck!

B26s are just... cool. But after the work I lavished on my -2 stock, it still hasn't taken a single critter, mostly because work travel has cut into shootin' time. So congrats to you (by the way, cool shirt art also). Good kill with the iron sights.

I think I overscoped my 26 at first, and I finally put the Tasco Golden Antler 3-9 on it after recommendations here. It is a much better fit and balance, and the rifle is ready and shooting great. I think it is an excellent combination if you decide to go that step.

After this month, it is going hunting. Just gotta get through May and a lot of airplanes. Our squirrels aren't as pretty as yours but they probably need shooting even more!
