with the famous grt-III trigger?
also, what are some scope recommendations for over 4x that are wide
-
You can check the classifieds gate,, or you can simply order a new one then order a trigger from Bob..... Easy as that :)
Jeff
-
no special spring tools necessary for the installation?
-
nope takes about 15 min.
-
Nope.... the trigger comes with very easy to follow installation instructions and the whole job takes about 15 minutes. Easy as pie.... If you go to Bobs website (you can find it in the "mall") I believe you can look at the installation instructions before you even buy it. It really is easy to install.
As for the best price on a CFX,,,,,, check out Midsouth, pyramydair,, or some of the other online dealers.
Jeff
-
i think midwdayusa has the best price on a new one
-
And remember that if you want a CFX in .22 cal...the only place that I know of to get one in the US thats new, is Pyramyd. It comes with a scope, a 4x32
http://www.pyramydair.com/p/gamo-cfx-break-barrel-air-rifle.shtml (http://www.pyramydair.com/p/gamo-cfx-break-barrel-air-rifle.shtml)
And of course as everyone said...the GRT-III trigger comes from Bob, and man is it ever sweet. I have three. Gamo Shadow .177, Gamo CFX .22, and Game Shadow Express .22. Lightest trigger pull I have ever felt!!!
-
Do the .22 cal's shoot significantly slower/less penetration/distance then the .177? Does it make up for it in impact or could a .177 hollow point substitute the .22 and retain its stopping power?
-
My opinion on your question is that with the right pellet, like for example a Predator in .22 has significantly more penetration power than a .177 Predator would have at any distance. Thats one of the reasons why I like .22s...because of their knockdown/penetration power. Now...everybody has opinions about everything...but hey...why not buy 2 CFXs one in .22 and the other in .177. Then you can run your own experiments and report your results back to us. I would find your results most interesting.
-
money is an issue or else i would buy 2 CFx's to run my own experiments lol
-
Additionally, It is not an opinion which I seek.
I'm looking for the actual facts here..
So basically a .22 predator has more penetration then a .177 from upclose or at 40 yards as well?
-
It would be best then if I only answer your questions with what I know as fact. I'm thinking that you'll be hearing much less from me....LOL (http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif)
-
why? I'm just not looking for an opinion necessarily... I want some truth to the matter since i'm going to be buying one of the two and I want to make the best decision. duh.
-
Gregg....Whoops...I'm kindof an offthewall sense of humor guy and didnt mean to offend in any way. If I have caused any scratching of your head I apologize (thats how I went bald I think). I guess what I should have said was a lot of what I know is based on my own observations, reading articles, and hangin around reading in this place. So if its facts you are after then I will be less talkative in the future, when you are looking for facts. If you are asking for an opinion then I'll gladly reply.
Once again, I did not mean to offend, and please continue to ask and participate here. We like to say that we are all one big happy family here and you are welcome here. Lot of joking going on here on the GTA forums...sometimes folks that come from other forums where things didnt go right for them...and then theycome here and find lots of folks having fun, and learning too, little bit of banter...so pull up a chair and some fun ok?(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif) Sometimes its kinda weird getting used to I think. I know it was for me, becuase where I hung out before everybody was so serious and...mean...just downright nasty to me. Now I feel like I am accepted as just one of them airgunners!!! That feels good for me!!!
Have you been asking questions in other forums or did you start here? If this is your first...we like to say simply...Welcome to the GTA!!! Its a great place to be!!!
-
Gregg, check the classified - fix has one for sale.
-
Just got a flier for Natchez...thats a HOT deal!!!
-
where? How do we get that deal, danm
-
Gregg, do you mean large objective diameter? Like 50mm instead of 40mm. My favorite deal is the BSA 3-12X44AO at Natchez for 54.86, out of stock right now but usually dont have to wait too long for them to restock. Sweet!!! Had one mounted on my CFX .22 for a long time and it worked really well.

-
That is a super good deal on a CFX !!! If I didn't already have one I'd buy it.
As for the hunting question.......177 or .22 ,,,,,, both are capable of taking small game and every hunter has their favorite caliber.. That being said,,,, I have many .177's and hunt with them all and they take game just fine but,,,,, .22 cal is my preferred hunting caliber overall....
Jeff
-
Darn right Jeff...I dont own a CFX in .177 I have one in .22.....so my orderfinger is talking to the other finger and I just dont know what is going to happen.
-
I have placed my order for my new CFX in .177, next up....the GRT-III trigger.
-
yeah large objective diameter
-
Ok Gregg, then my favorite deal of ALL TIME is the Leapers 6-24X50AO illuminated mildot scope. It is airgun rated and I have 2 myself. One is on a Diana 350M .177 and the other is on a Diana 350M .22
It can be purchased at Galati International for 80 bucks plus shipping and thats the best price on it that I have ever found. It wont work right on a CFX though!!! Its a long scope and would interfere with loading the rotary breech on a CFX. I just wanted to mention that Leapers deal to you so that when you get hooked on airguns and you have other rifles and you want an awesome sniperscope...the link is below!!!

-
Dammit Man....that's $50 cheaper than I just paid for mine!!! But I did get that crappy scope & mount so I guess that makes up for it...LOL
Ken
-
what do you do to make it work right on a cfx?
what are a lot of people here using for scopes on their .177's, atlest the scopes that are adjustable past 4x?
-
Gregg, maybe starting another thread and ask about what scopes folks use on their CFXs and what kinda mounts etc...might get some responses, its probably gonna get buried here. Or better yet use the search function of the forum and check out what has been said in the past...literally tons of information in the past. I know that question has been asked before. When I first came here I did a lot of searches, and learned a great deal just from that, and then there were some things that I still had questions about, so then I asked and sometimes got more confused(http://../jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif)but it all worked out in the end. (i think...)
