Hey, me again with the million questions. I'm not even sure how it happened, but I noticed the other day that I had some damaged to the side of the stock of my new Beeman 1073 (RS2). So, what do I do? It's bugging me, staring at me even. I'd like to fix it, but I suppose that means disassembling the gun (and I'd already fired off an email to Gene yesterday about tuning this thing up). How far on the disassembly do I need to go? I saw on one of the how-tos for this gun that you need a special tool to get the trigger assembly out and that some guys have just gone ahead and made one themselves. Or is there a product that I can use that's designed for blemishes like this? I'm pretty sure this happened from being leaned against a block wall or something at my g/f's dad's house a couple of weeks ago...and if the stock is that easily damaged perhaps refinishing is a fool's errand. I'll attempt to post a picture, but you can't really see the dents.

Depending on how deep it is, you can steam it out, or if it's not very deep, Old English Scratch Cover works nicely.

Michael, sometimes you can "raise dents" by applying a hot iron to the affected area. If you don't have a clothes iron maybe your G/F has a curling iron that would suffice. As for the area's where the finish is abraided, maybe a drop of stain rubbed in followed by a drop or two of poly. You would want to clean and lightly scrub the affected area before applying to insure removing contaminants that inhibit adhesion of the poly u. Another thing you can locate a good furniture store in your area and see if they would be willing to "touch up" the blemish. They do it all the time on furniture dings. Good luck.

You raise dents in wood using a wet (steam does it ) rag and a iron not a dry iron , sometimes it works but it's worth a try.
