Gamo 440 ---I lost the little plastic thing that sits on the cocking lever between the lever and the compression chamber. I am not sure how long it has been missing and only noticed it when I saw there was one on my wife’s Shadow 1000 (that I mostly shoot and tinker with when she is out). I am assuming that it is a spacer to stop the rubbing of the cocking arm against the compression chamber. I see where a thin strip of the blue has worn off the compression chamber but nothing major. I make sure there is molly paste on this wear mark and the gun cocks as smooth as silk. I just wondered how crucial it was and if so where can I get one?
Rob,
P.S I have shot about 250 pellets through, since my tune and it appears to be getting better and groups tighter and very consistent. This is a 5 shot group I shot from 10 metres indoors with scope (also waiting for new one) and rest and FTS .177, I have not had the chance to test it further as it has been so windy here.. Waiting for some .177 jsb exacts to arrive to try them.

The rifle will work without it, but it will start scoring the compression tube. I wouldn't shoot it before replacing it.
You can cut a piece out of Delrin or Teflon stock, or get them here:

Look for "Cocking Lever Wear Shoes & 2 Rollers $5.00 CFX or Shadow / Hunter series". You'll get extra rollers, too....
I don't know of anyone else who sells them.

I just checked that site out! Thanks, I will try to source some teflon otherwise I will order one there. It looks like a simple enough thing to make though.

I made one, not the best but it works all the same. It will do until I can get a better one. Oh! does anybody know what is good to clean old loctite blue off threads?
-
As long as it prevents metal-to-metal contact, doesn't break or fall out, and isn't too thick (in which case it'd overload the roller), you should be fine.
-
Hey Rob I have an extra one sitting in my tool box. If you want it I can send it on over to you. I use denatured rubbing alcohol to get loctite off the threads.
-
Hey that would be great but I do live in Australia. If thats ok I will send you an email with my address. Thanks you guys for the help.

It's in the mail Rob via air mail - hopefully you get it quickly...

Hey Thanks Jay, That is really nice of you to do that..Like I said before I hope I can return the favour someday.
