: Wanted: A Decent Scope for My New 34 Panther!!
: Timmyj1959@yahoo.com June 21, 2008, 10:28:45 AM
My new Super Tuned Panther (Gene & Bob) is nearly complete now. I know they will be upset with me,, but,, I did it again,, the Brl. is now "Chopped" to 15 3/4" just like the new Pro Compacts. Even with a cheap Cros. scope & mount it shoots FANTASTIC!! :D  I am so pleased Im gonna use the new Dampa Mount from my Frieind in the Neatherlands on it,, this gun is TRULY WORTHY of a nice scope!! In the pic. are a few items I may be willing to trade for. This is by FAR the best shooting break brl. I have ever owned,, It is begging for some nice glass!! I have a Leapers 3x9x32 AO on my .22 Panther and it works well with the rifle.  Just the right size and performs well.  Optics planet has them for good prices,,,, just a thought......  Cobra also has them.......

Hey Tim!
We also have a 3x9x50 AO center point also. It's still in the box with all the paper work and even a scope cover.

Thanks for responding Craig, today I removed that very same Center Point scope from my 34 (It was from my last G-1). I also have that same scope on my Diana 350, & so far it is "Holding"??  Those lower end Center Point (Leapers) scopes seem to be "luck of the draw" in my experience?? The upper end "TS" series on the other hand I think are pretty good. My Bug Buster proved to be bullet proof!! Thank you Craig for your kind offer,, this 34 Panther of mine was Super Tuned by Bob & Gene, it is VERY special to me, it shoots better than ANY break brl. I have ever owned,, It is worthy of the new Dampa mount I received from a special friend of mine in the Neatherlands, also deserves a Nice scope,, I am willing to "Horse Trade" my way into a nice piece of glass for it. Tim.

Does a Simmons 44 Mag qualify as nice glass?  I just got a Hawke scope for one of my Talons, so I think I'm ready to let the Simmons go.  It's one of the older ones, 6.5-20x44, AO, target turrets, mil dot reticle, with box and docs, in like new condition, just some VERY light ring marks and a little dust.  So what exactly in that picture is available for trade, if you're interested?  I'm thinking I need a pistol to cut down the mouse population in my shop :-).  Let me know.
