...I should mention that the side of the road had a little dirt road leading off onto Steve Corcorans property, and I should also maybe mention that I just happened to have a Mike Melick tuned AR2078 action in the back of my car. These two guys do great work, but I think ya'll can see that for yourselves.

The gun feels even better than it looks, which I think is saying alot. And with Mike's tune it shoots as hard as a rhino running at a school bus. Again, these two do great work and I'm proud to own a little piece of each of their works.
The stock is a new design by Steve, similar to his QB FT stock, but in a thumbhole version. He showed me some pictures of the early pattern a month or so ago and I knew I just had to be one of the first owners.
Of course I'm not the only owner of either of these guys work, so if anyone wants one of their own be sure to check out their websites and drop them an email.
Steve Corcoran is at http://www.woodsandwateroutdoors.com (http://www.woodsandwateroutdoors.com/)
and Mike Melick can be found at http://www.airgunartisans.com/flyingdragon (http://www.airgunartisans.com/flyingdragon)
Thanx for the great new gun guys, I'm sure it wont be my last, but I'll probably keep it for a good long time...like until I'm too old to shoot it:)

That stock is way to nice to put that crappy old action in, I'll see if I can find a really nice one for you.

Hehe, Mike that crappy old action shoots better than anything else I own. Sorry, but I wouldn't trade you for one with a diamond bolt handle and 24K inlays on it. This one is great! I may at some point do a little beautification to it, just to make it less stock, but as far as function I'm more than happy!

Wow Dano!!
That is beautiful.
Your lucky you were looking on the side of the road for cans when you came across that.... :)
-
Well Dan, not enough words to describe how nice that piece of work is. All I can say is I want one...:) BAD BAD... lol. You must be as happy as a can be. Thanks for sharing with us Dan. Hope it brings you many fantastic hunts and perfect groups..:)
When I read your email about the scope, I could not put 2 and 2 together... Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... lol . I may even have a scope to donate to you now... :)

Shhhh,
don't say that out loud, I don't want everyone knowing I'm so poor I need to hunt for recycleables to pay for my pellets and gas.
Thanx for the kind words, I have been sitting here spending family time with my wife and kids, the whole time holding the new rifle...except at dinner:) The rifle case this one will live inside usually sleeps under my side of the bed. Clearly there is little difference between under the bed and under the covers right? My wife shouldn't mind:)

You donate scopes Gene? I donated blood once, didn't hurt a bit! Wonder what sort of needle you would need to pass a scope, bet it'd be a huge needle(or a very small scope). About the groups, I'm not a great shot, but this thing was having no problems hitting Steve's horse apples at 20-30yards with openned sights and standing. The trigger is pretty light, almost to where you have to think about NOT shooting before your aim is on good. I'm thinking if I got this on a bench with a scope I could easily pull off 50+ yard shots, probably much further. Mike's action shoots FAST!
bwt:It was good talking to you on the phone tonight Gene, I'm sure we'll talk again soon.
Take care,
Dan

Dano,
That is a magnificient piece of art work. You are very lucky. Best of luck...

That if they really love you they'll understand your little "quirks".
Mine bought me my first handgun after feeling sorry for me sleeping with a big, nasty knife under my bed years and years ago. It's been relative bliss ever since.

Yes, I have been blessed by knowing two really great airgun buddies. If I could just figure out how to get that job, you know "independantly wealthy", all I'd have to do is shoot all day and work in my garage all night....that would be heaven. Of course I'd also need time with my wife and kids...maybe I could get them to sit in the garage with me for a few hours?
