: My Crosman 2250 B work in progress...
: derekmcminn June 25, 2008, 03:21:17 PM
I've been modding my Crosman 2250B slowly. So far, a Leapers scope, Crosman trigger shoe, pipe insulation cheek rest, and homemade barrel shroud. I hope to switch out the breech to a Crosman metal breech with the grooves so I can get rid of the hideous intermounts on the barrel. I might also shorten the 1399 stock because my 7 year old likes to shoot this carbine.

Derek...Nice shroud!  How did you make it?...Yes, the steel breech is a great idea, I have one on order from Crosman for my 2250B project.  That will allow you to better mount your scope.  I had to do the stock shorten mod so my wife could get a good eye relief with her Leapers Bug Buster.  I also used an Accushot offset mount on those "hideous" barrel mounts.  I'll post pic's when It's complete.  I'm sure your 7 yo is going to love it when you're done!!!

I had a whole bunch of left over sprinkler pop up risers from when my landscaper finished our house. Since I know nothing about landscaping and we have a gardener anyway, I started cannibalizing the sprinkler pop ups. Inside each one is a long black plastic tube. I trimmed off the far edge and the other end tapers to a thread. I drilled three 3/16 holes in a triangular fashion and secured the shroud to the 2250 barrel using three Allen set screws bought at Home Depot for 30 cents.

The shroud is non functional. It doesn't alter the sound. Purely cosmetic only. I hate skinny barrels.

For those who want to order a Crosman steel breech, Alan at AB Airgun (www.abairgun.com (http://www.abairgun.com/)) said he has a few in stock right now (short ones and long ones). I emailed him the day before yesterday with some questions and he's really quick to reply. He also said my breech (for my 2250) was shipped yesterday. It beats waiting a few weeks to get one from Crosman. Alan also has other 22xx parts/barrels, etc so check his site and ask him.
