I was wondering if anyone has tried the 3000 psi aluminum air tanks used for paintball guns with the CO2 airforce adapter on a talon? I know it is regulated at 850 psi but isn't that about all CO2 will give you on a hot day? The tanks are suppose to give 700 uniform shots on a paintball gun. I think it will be an advantage because there will be no poi change due to tempature changes. Thanks in advance- Nick

Funny I've wondered the same thing. I had a Talon, and still own a regulated HPA paintball tank, but never put the two together. I use my HPA tank on a modded qb and it is very consistant. You know you can get regulators for those tanks that are boosted well beyond 850psi also:)

I think I may give it a try. I have talon in 22 cal. with a 24 in. barrel that I shoot only with CO2. The HPA paintball tanks are only $69. I have wasted more money than that on experiments! The poi shift due to temp. changes is much more noticeable with 22 cal. than it is with .177. Thanks- Nick

Hey, let us know how it works out, I think that may be a sweet setup. I bet you could fine tune the air consumption by adjusting the hammer spring tnsion while shooting over a chrony. Just increase the powerwheel till you reach max velocity, then stop and maybe turn back half a turn. Shouldn't be a ton of hammer bounce, but if you could get your hands on a lightenned hammer it may help some also. If you haven't already get your hands on some 90 dura breach o-rings, they make a big difference in consistancy.

Dan-How many shots per fill are you getting and at how many fps? Tony included some breech seals when I recieved his shroud but I did'nt know they would improve consistency. I will give him a call about the lighter hammer, been wanting to go that route anyway. Thanks- Nick

I honestly can't remember how many shot per fill I was getting, I sold my TalonSS to DaveD's brother some months back. Maybe Dave will chime in.

Ok, so today I purchased a HPA paintball tank($50 filled). I put it on my talon and tried about 30 shots. The accuracy is a little better esp. when I turned up the power wheel, but it does'nt seem to shoot as hard as the CO2. I don't have a chrony yet so I shot into a phone book. The CO2 is hitting quite a bit harder. I then decided to try both CO2 and air without the shroud. There was no change with HPA but the CO2 went about 1/4 inch deeper without the shroud! I am wondering if the shroud is effecting the accuracy with CO2. I got the 22 cal. barrel and shroud at the same time, with the .177 barrel the gun was a tack driver. I am curious as to whether anyone else has had CO2 accuracy problems with a shroud? Thanks- Nick

Only a temperature related problem. With a shroud, the cold co2 gas tends to ping-pong around on the inside, bathing the barrel and shroud in cold gas, cooling things down about 3 times faster than the same rifle with the muzzle free to vent the gas.
