The Gamo Recon only has a 1 year warranty. Is this the trend with Gamo rifles, or is it because it's a lower priced model?? Anyone have thoughts on it?
Thanks.

I thought all the Gamo's had a one year limited warranty... hmmmmmmmmm Will have to look into that..:)

If you don't mess with it, it's a limited lifetime warranty for a new unit.

I have 6 Gamo rifles (actually one if for the wife, and 2 for the kids) and only the Recon has a 1 year limited warranty. After giving it more thought, even the Delta that I have has a lifetime warranty and it's a lower priced model than the Recon. That's why I was wondering if Gamo was shortening the length of time in warranty coverage on the new models.

Mark, have you checked other vendors that sell it to see if it may have been a mis print. Best way to find out is email Gamo..

Hi Gene,
Thats who supplied me with the info in the first place. I noticed that there was no warranty registration card in the box and e-mailed them for the info. Heres a copy of my request along with their response:
( I editted the serial # for this post)

Subject: Warranty registration
Hello,
I had recently purchased a Gamo Recon air rifle, serial #XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, on 9/18/06, but didn't receive a warranty registration card with it. Can the above info be submitted for registration? If not, what should I do to register it?
Thanks
Mark DeVico

WOW Mark, Kinda strange they give that model a short warranty. Have you noticed any other models with that type of warranty? Hope this will not be standard to come with all of there models..

Yeah, I know. That's exactly what I was thinking as well, Gene. It's funny, I ordered the Recon and Delta rifles the same day at a local sports store. The Delta had a warranty registration card (limited lifetime warranty) but the Recon did not. At first I was thinking, the card never made it into the box when it was packed (that's why I sent the e-mail to Gamo C/S). After getting their reply, I then thought, well maybe they are only doing this on the low end models....but...the Delta is one of the low end models also, so that can't be. The only other thing is that, possibly, we may be seeing the beginning of the end to the Gamo lifetime warranty. We'll know for sure in a couple of years I suppose. I hope I'm wrong.

IF IT MEANS THEY'LL SELL US PARTS!!!!
But don't hold your breath....

I never thought of it like that. Hopefully that's the "plan"....along with a full size thumbhole (Recon style) stock, he he he!
