: Gamo Recon?
: Brod_Man July 03, 2008, 12:23:34 PM
I was thinking of getting another gun, that my younger cousins could shoot when they came over. My cousin was shooting my storm xt, but he was having dificulty cocking it. This little gun looks to be about perfect for him and his little brother to shoot out here. So what do you think of it?

It's a nice rifle, that shoulders quite well, light cocking effort and very comfy for a smaller shooter. Although a bit overpriced IMO, unless you catch it on sale, for under $65. Take a look at the Sporter 500, from Natchez, about the same cocking effort, wood stock a tad more power, for $60.

It's light - 5.5 lbs - and a bit easier to cock than a normal Gamo or Quest. It's near full sized, though, not like a Delta.

If I'm not mistaken the Recon doesn't have open sights. Bummer, I'd think that kids oughta learn to use 'em.

Heya.  Might consider one of those Daisy 953's. Nice little one-pump pneumatic, accurate as all get-out at reasonably short ranges. Fit it with Avanti or Crosman aperture sights, and the only problem the kids might have is getting it out of YOUR paws!

 Have a great day,
 Parks

I thought about that to, but he doesnt seem to like it very well. He was interested in have a clip, because he has dificulty loading my 880 with the big scope on there.
