I was shooting my .22CFX yesterday and I usually use Crossman competition Wadcutters for plinking and target shooting. I usually get a little over 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups at 20yds, but today suddenly they kept stringing up and spread to about 2 inches. I tried my crossman pointed pellets and got the same result. Then I tried some JSB exacts and predators just for giggles and the groups were tighter than ever I even tried those real cheap daisy wadcutters and they were tight. The exacts were shooting around 1/2 to 1/4 and the predators were making small ragged holes and I do mean small ragged holes! The predators are always tight like this in my gun but never like this. I even switched back to the Crossmans and again with the stringing and extreme spread. I have never shot this good before its like the gun got in a good mood or something? Weird!!

I think you had a Zen moment.
Seriously, I have had the same thing happen. I think it has more to do with you as a shooter than the rifle. I know I shoot differently when I am tired than when I am well rested. It also makes a difference if I am relaxed or anxious. We as humans have many more varialbes than pieces of steel, wood and plastic. Congrats on your good shooting.

Thanks! It was kinda scary I actually started shooting the staples holding the target on the box and was hitting them on the first shot!

When the shooter holding the shooter settles down so does the shooter that he or she is holding, the circle is complete.

Good job! I also have days when my accuracy with my cfx just sucks. I tend to be able to settle down after a while and shoot much tighter sub 1/2" groups at 35yards.
Be one with the rifle.
