: I finally get to try out Gamo's customer service...
: vinceb October 11, 2006, 03:52:20 AM
Turns out that the refurb 220 I recently bought has a crooked barrel... angles off to the left noticeably. Glad I didn't take it apart just yet!

I'm very curious to see how good Gamo is on these things. I had a warranty claim on Crosman several months ago - it took them about 3 weeks, but they did good. Hope Gamo does the same.

Vince,
I had a CFX a couple of years ago that I had sent back to them because the power output was low.  I had a difficult time trying to connect with someone on the telephone....always having to leave a message (was not impressed at all).  Anyhow, I ended up just sending it back with a written explanation of the problem.  About 2 weeks later a new replacement arrived on my doorstep (very impressed and happy).  I think you'll be fine.
: Funny you should mention that....

My CFX seemed to be having some excessive velocity variation, short story is I determined it was the front rotary breach seal.  Now if you check Gamo USA's site, the list 3 different seals in 4 packs, that cover every rifle they make...except the CFX.  Now I've heard that Gamo's parts support is non existant, and that these seals just aren't available, but since I had some time to burn, I decided to actually call them.  Surprisingly enough, I got through to a real person in a matter of minutes.  When I told him what I was looking for, his initial response was that they weren't available.  When I asked why, he said they don't supply them because you have to dismantle the rifle to replace the seal.  Which means you void the warranty.  Well, you don't have to take the rifle apart to replace the front seal, and I made it clear I knew that.  Then he said I could send it in for warranty service, I told him I'd already voided the warranty, so now what do I do?  He asked for my name and number, and promised to call back within 15 minutes.  Yeah, right.  In fact, it was 10 minutes, and I have 4 seals on the way at the same price as the other seals on the site.  Don't know the part number yet, but will post if anyone is interested once they get here.  So maybe things are looking up in Gamo Cust. Svc.  Try to talk to a guy named Kyle, and good luck.

Dave

Sounds like you have made major progress with Gamo, Dave.. At least now all of us who own CFX's will be able to get seals for the breach.

Thanks for you firm efforts..:)

Yes, that sounds really good.  That was my last contact with Gamo customer service and it seems that is has gotten a whole lot better.  Luckily, I haven't needed them, but its good to know that things are looking up.  After that last contact, or lack thereof for the most part, I was very unhappy about their service.  Had it not been for my gun arriving at  my house as quickly as it did, it might have been the last one I would've purchased from them (that was three guns ago,LOL).  Thanks for the info...good news all around that's for sure.  :)
: I gotta thank Dave too. I

had tried several times to get those seals and was always told that they were unavailable and that they could not be ordered. Thanks to Dave's perseverance, I was able to get them.  Thanks Dave.
: I hope so...

I sent it out 2 weeks ago, Gamo got it on the 12th, and according to their records it hasn't even been "entered into the system".

I was told that they don't expect to get to it for another 1.5-2 weeks.

Hmmmm.... they must have 'em stacked up like cordwood over there...
