: Got Delrin?
: daveshoot August 09, 2008, 02:08:08 AM
If any GTAers would be interested, I have access to a quantity of  1.75" dia. Delrin rod stock (white).
There are about 4-5 bars of this stuff 10' long, that my company will probably scrap out. It is easily cut to manageable/shippable size with a bandsaw.
Graingers sells one foot lengths of 1 5/8 OD stock for about 10.99 per foot, so it is not exactly platinum, but I will box up pcs for a good home (air gun chambers) if you pick up shipping. If you're in California I can always meet you up and down the I-5 between San Diego and Fresno.
I will only have a couple weeks to get rid of this stuff so if you want me to set some aside, let me know.

Dave, I'll take one. Let me know what it would be to ship to area code 36526. Thanks.

How many feet would you want? The bars are 10 feet long, I can chop 'em up to whatever you like.

: Splash August 09, 2008, 02:22:33 AM
One bar, cut into 5 pieces,2' long if that's OK.

Yeah I will go out and weigh the one I took and get back to you a little later. I looked up your zip and it would be $15 UPS Ground for 10 lbs, $20 for 15, $25 for 20lbs. Not really sure what it will weigh and USPS might be cheaper, so we can work out the details but I will snag one for ya. I'll email or PM you for the ship-to.

I'll take  a couple of two footers if you have any left over.  I'll make you a guide to your specs for your trouble if you want.

I would like some pieces cut 1 foot or there abouts. If you cut to size of a flat rate box that may be the best way to ship in general. Thanks

i will take a few 2 foot sections if still avail

I would like a couple of pieces if there is any left. zip 06851. Thanx John. let me know how much shipping is so i can send $$

OK. I hope I can pick it up in the morning, a guy is going to meet me at the shop and we should be able to chop them to truck size (dcab Tacoma bed). I will dice 'em up the rest of the way when I get home to SD and get ship-tos for all of ya.

RC, I will probably take you up on that deal. Might be a while til I get some dims unless we have the same gun, but that would be interesting. I have some wood tools, but no lathe :-(

johncedarhill, that is very sound advice. I will look up the standard carton sizes and trim accordingly.

Splash gets a whole order if the connection comes through.
In the queue:
RCnMo
johncedarhill
Skonion
yel01z06
Scruff Dog

I don't want to overpromise until I have it in hand and will post tomorrow. Should easily cover these requests with some extra but I hate to count chickens before they are hatched.

I imagine Gene and Charlie Bob have all they need, but they need only snap the finger, of course.

Also I feel silly charging people just shipping, I am not even sure how. I have a Paypal but have never used it.  If you had any useful AG junk you want to send back instead, that would just cover cost (or could be used to offset something), it might be interesting.

I am interested in 1377 stuff now. Steel breech w/dovetail, longer barrels, shoulder stock, hot valves kinda stuff.
Also I am now the only adult male in America without a B3 or Fast Deer and could trade up if someone has an extra.

Toys, bling, mounts, and parts for any of following: Steroid Sheridan rocker, SS1000/RS2, QB36-2, B26-2, QB-57, Crosman 150 (TW), RWS5G, MP513, IZH53, RWS9N/Cometa, MP661k Drozd, Walther Falcon Hunter, Daisy 990 (whatever, don't laugh, I was in an apartment then, it's kilt critters). If it made one of those shoot gooder or smell better or more attractive to women, and you aren't using it, you could throw it in a box and send it or shoot me an email or PM instead.

Decent one pc scope mounts. Scope stops for dovetails. 2nd drawer type extras. 'Course if you're like me you know you're gonna need that stuff someday and can't really let it go, and I understand, I will figure out how to process cash if necessary. :-)

I'd really like 3 ft. worth of it in 1 ft. long pieces if possible.

Area code is 53149 and I'd be happy to pay for the shipping.  Great offer!

I'd like a batch of delrin. I can pay shipping, or we could work out a trade. I have a B3, .177 underlever. I also have a B3 .177 sidefolder. PM me, please.
I'm in zip code 30281.

: Jaymo August 10, 2008, 02:46:51 PM
Were you talking about the B3 underlever like Shadow has, or the sidelever?

I'll take 6 ft. if you have any left, shipping to 50522..........thanks, Mike

AS a thought i got some 3 ft aluminum pipe and it came in a USPS triangular cardboard box. Not sure if this is a flat rate item or not. I can see if it has a USPS stock number on it when I get to the house tomorrow. I think that might prove to be a useful way to ship.
: Re: Got Delrin?
: daveshoot August 11, 2008, 01:23:56 AM
I will take a break on new orders until I get this stuff cut and boxed, but I should have all down through mikeiniowa covered.
Right now, I have:

Splash   10
RCnMo    4
johncedarhill    4
Skonion    4
yel01z06    4
Scruff Dog    4
mjb108   6
Black Mamba   3
Jaymo   10
mikeiniowa   6

I think I will standardize 2' lengths for the larger quantities, unless specified otherwise. This will minimize the cutting. I know I said it is "easily cut" but that was just marketing. I don't think it will dull the tablesaw blade too badly and that would make it a lot easier.

USPS goes by length + girth so a couple of 2-footers would be 24+2+2+4+4=34" for example. This would be under the Large Package size of 84".
I weighed some pieces. A 6 ft. stick was 9 lbs, a 4 ft was 6 lbs (so I reckon 10' would be 15 lbs).
: Re: Got Delrin?
: Splash August 11, 2008, 01:36:46 AM
Dave, USPS has 3 measurements 34x17x17, if any are over this, then it cost extra.
: Re: Got Delrin?
: daveshoot August 11, 2008, 12:39:57 PM
USPS doesn't really care and Parcel Post is based on weight. Size & shape don't seem to matter and they go by length + girth. Still probably the cheapest option.

If you guys will review the quantities (there is plenty enough for another foot or two if you want to round up), and PM me some ship-tos, I will start cutting. There is quite enough to make all the commitments above.
: Re: Got Delrin?
: daveshoot August 13, 2008, 03:21:31 PM
Well I think I got them all posted today, plain parcel post.
Some are two-footers, a few are 1s. I might have messed some quantities up. They should be close. Hey, what am I, Pyramyd? I never shipped this much stuff in my life by USPS.
Next time I will see what boxes are available first, and cut the danged plastic to fit what I have.
In this case I cut the pieces first, then cut the boxes to fit (kinda like framing and hanging your door first, then building the house around it). So some (most) of you will get some rather ugly packages. I am not much of a shipper. I caused a bit of a spectacle in the USPS lobby at the automatic shipping machine. Some elderly people wondered what-all I was shipping and when I would be done. That was kinda fun, because a lot of them seem to hang out at the PO looking for conversation, or spectacles. I think they go there every day.

I considered stencilling "CAUTION: WEAPONS GRADE DELRIN" on the boxes but thought better of it.

Most of y'all are easterners so it will be 6-7 days to receipt.

I'll PM ya individually on shipping.

Sure slices easily on the tablesaw, no wonder people like to work with it. No burn or fumes to speak of. I'm sure there are different grades and if this not what you were expecting, sorry in advance. There will be a little more down the road, not as much, but if it is what you like and you consume a lot of this, I will let you know when I get some more.

It has been a good way to get to know some GTAers offline, and worth it for that alone. Great bunch of folks!

Hi Dave, I' try some if any is left. How about 2-2' pieces. Let me know what you need for cash. Thanks - Lee

No, if you were PA, nothing would have shipped yet. It would be backordered for a month or two.
