having read the hand lapping tutorial on CDT's web site.
is this the normal (only)way a choke is worked into a barrel?

This whole exchange is just odd, haha!!!
I can't send my love Paul, but I'll send you a couple .20 cal barrels, I just need an address to send them to:)

From what I've read about hand lapping it's used to smooth or polish the bore of a rifle , it can make the bore bigger if you are not carefully it's a big pain I use fire lapping if I want to smooth up a bore you usa something like soft scrub or fine rubbing compounds as a polish and roll your pellets in it then shoot 8 or 10 pellets clean the bore try the gun and see if you have an improvement , at least this way you and take it in small steps and be more carefully as well as much easer than casting a lapping plug I've tried both ways with a 22 rf. and I'll not go back to hand lapping. I think their is both ways in our library section. I don't think you can get a choke this way unless you stop short of the end of the muzzle at the same place each stroke but my thinking is you just opened up your barrel ID and can't shrink the muzzle to make a choke this way I'ed rather leave the bore alone than make it over size. howie
