I consider carbine length rifles to be 40" or shorter. My HW30, Webley Longbow, BSA Lightning XL and BSA Ultra fit in the carbine niche. Carbines generally are rifles with shorter barrel dimensions and usually a more trim stock profile.

Thanks PeakChick.I hear they have a little less power also. What about velocity? I am looking at a Benjamin 392.I like how short it is, and think it would be just a fun plinker, maybe a hunter.Thoughts, comments? i suppose it would be considred a carbine. If I remember correctly, it is 36"

After reading a past post, it seems to be a tough little pumper.Great for what I would use it for, and capable of light hunting. But first, the Falcon Hnter.

Vinny:

My HW30S shoots Beeman FTS 8.6 gr at about 615 FPS or just over 7 FPE avg.  It's a deadly little urban backyard varmint rifle out to about 25 - 30 yards.  And it is oh-so quiet, and oh-so easy to cock, and oh-so fun to shoot!
